I would like to see a book explaining how to play Traveller when you get to undeveloped worlds with limited technology such as swords, muskets and old rifles. How these worlds relate to the high tech worlds around them. How imported high tech trade affects them. perhaps detailing missions such as exploration and scouting, stealthy observation and archeology. How these worlds are protected from being tainted by other worlds by the Imperium and how you can get past the blockades and what happens if you get caught infiltrating these low tech protected worlds with banned technology.

I would like to see aspects such as ancient, medieval, wild west and WW1 themed civilisations reminiscent of some of the stranger (and some would say the dafter) Star Trek episodes like when they went onto a world inhabited by nazis or gangsters.

I am thinking about limited medicines, violent peoples, homesteads, smuggling technology, Imperium red zones, monarchies and chivalry, ancient weapons, barbarians, trading with tribes, stealth tourism, etc etc.

Its never been done, it would be bloody interesting to play in a Traveller game and who hasn't wanted to play a Westworld game in Traveller?

Wild West is covered in the Cowboys vs Xenomorphs PDF from Mongoose Publishing.

He's saying he wants more than just one small adventure... he described a sourcebook for how to do it all.

Interesting concept to be sure.

It's more then just an adventure though, contains useful information for that type of setting, beyond just the adventure itself.

Dude, I know... I have the final edit Matt sent me, so I am speaking from a position of knowlege.

I never said it would be a complete solution but it does contain at least some of what was wanted.

Yeah I suspect these areas have been covered in small doses but what I want to see is the whole old world concept covered from a Traveller 3rd Imperium perspective as to how they fit into the high tech Imperium. Mongoose have basically enhanced all the high techlevel sides to Traveller but no-one has touched all the lower techlevel worlds and IMO that is where several interesting adventures lie. Mongoose have touched on muskets and antique firearms, barbarians and bows but there is so much more to it than just the weapons.

One published take on a "primitive" Traveller setting is Netherell: Planet of Magic. It does and interesting job on TL 0-2 but is campaign specific and does not cover the firearms and slightly more modern concepts you ask for. I would like to see a more generic book in the vein you ask about.
