I was thinking. What with Mongoose doing the new SFB miniatures for the ACTA: SF game, what they need is a line of 28mm figures for Traveller Prime Directive as well. Mongoose already do the JD figures, so it could be possible to do some Prime Directive ones. Considering the lack of 28mm Trek-like figures, I think it could be a winner!

agreed, Star Trek is very under represented in the 28mm figure market which is suprising considering all the different races and era's etc.

must be a reasonable demand as well considering the prices some of the original fasa miniatures go for on ebay.

They are looking into it for a while: http://www.starfleetgames.com/prime/pd-future.htm

But yes it would be great -although there is already miniature for ships though: http://store.starfleetstore.com/merchan ... ry_Code=14

I would also suggest 15mm PD miniatures. There is a real hole in the market for PD styled figures in this scale. I know, i've looked. Plenty of powered armoured space marine clones. Velour suited space explorers, not so much. I'm biased because I have a set of 15mm deckplans for the Enterprise which i'd love to use, but still seems like a good opportuntity.

There is a chap who has done a set of 15mm figures appropriate for this. The problem is, once you've got 'em, there are no adversaries - and that is the big problem with any ST/PD set of figures - you only seem to find Starfleet crew, no other races at all! Perhaps there should be a "proxies" thread on one of the forum pages for figures people have come across that might do for some of the other races!

Proxies thread is a great idea, and I agree that the biggest pain is finding Klingons, Romulans etc to throw against your crew.

They are 15 mm, Prime Directive compatable minis. Unfortunately, they are all star Fleet types. Still looking for aliens and adversaries.

28mm like that, you mean?

Not the best minis, I'll grant you, but they're close enough until better ones turn up.

I'd throw my money into the 15mm ring though and go one step further and see if they couldn't reproduce (under license, of course) the 15mm deckplans that FASA brought out - they're still very much in demand (and not by collectors either - I know someone who picked up a set a few years back to roleplay with).

LOL just sculpt a bandolier on them and paint the skin a darker tone and you'd pretty much have a klingon... :)

Have you put in a request with him that he do some klingon and romulans?

Not yet - still sorting out an order, lol! Some of the Megamini's figures are quite nice (not a fan of some of the faces, though), but they are a larger 28mm - they fit in better with Victory Force. 2 of the ranges of figures that I've got are Matakishi's and 1st Corps - Matakishi's are excellent, 1st Corps not as good (a more accurate TOS uniform though!), but both have good and bad points, and they both fit together size-wise.

The 15mm minis site has a bits section available. You can order a sprue or two of alternate heads.
One of the selections has mustaches and gotees.

Yeah - It's got to be done, really!! I think I might put an order together. Just noticed the weapons as well! Nice!

Alternate heads?? Nice!!! Don't suppose another has pointy ears?

Feel a little nervous about swapping heads on a 15mm though - they're a bit fiddly...
