Would you play in a setting that resembles but isn't based on any of the Stargate series by virtue of whoever holding the rights is charging too much for said rights?

If you didn't want a purely US military Stargate campaign how would you handle a more multi-national and extra-terrestrial series?

Well, the stargate program is more multinational in later series, with russian and british units making up SG teams, probably others too.
