That is some creepy stuff.

Nice to think that a whole generation of kids has mostly grown up without nuclear war as some kind of looming threat. Terrorism isn't great, but given a choice, I'll take that over a 5 megaton warhead.

Terrorists could easily deliver a nuke anywhere in the US.

I'm more worried if someone in the government realises a series of events could leave them the power behind the throne or better if they can put the media and military under their control...

Assuming they're competent of course unlike the idiots over here and whoever is trying to sue a certain someone who actually seems genuinely competent.

Kevin Spacey seems to do scary well...

The person in charge now is already being a dicktator without regard to the Constitution. In other words, your fear has already materialized. Seems like Boomers have made for crappy leaders in this country at least.

He seems good at staying in power but lousy at doing his job, Politics these days is like watching two 98-pound weaklings in a boxing ring go at each other with boxing gloves. The problem here is there are some pretty powerful economic interests supporting the President even though he is a lousy leader, those same interests contribute the most money to the weaker Republican candidates which do not challenge the President as much as they should. Those economic interests include those that want illegal aliens to continue flowing across the border and providing them with a source of cheap labor, and apparently the Republicans think campaign contributions by them are more important than votes by the American People, they figure they can buy their popularity with those campaign contributions using slick campaign commercials right before election time, and somehow watching all those slick campaign adds will make the voter forget all his troubles and vote back in the incumbent and then afterwards they wonder why they have such a lousy and ineffectual government.

Actually, the person in charge now had used executive orders far less often than most of his predecessors since T.Roosevelt. And most of the time, they were used where the congress refused to do anything.
Anyways, back to the topic at hand...

Great find! thanks

It might be entertaining to make a game out of it where each player gets to target and or bluff to get the most casualties like Flying Buffaloes "Nuclear War " card game.
Or alter the code to allow for ABM systems like Nike, for example, where they might be purchased out of a starting budget ( meaning less money for warheads).

Imagine combining FB's "Nuclear War" and AH's "Diplomacy" in a single game on-line.

Common misconception fed by the clueless media. Executive orders are not unconstitutional. That they are issued is BETTER as it means there is a paper trail for orders given by PotUS to the executive branch for congress to audit. The Constitution REALLY needs to be taught in school. That way the media won't be able to babble insanely about stuff like "executive orders" as a misdirector and have people parrot it. It's when you CAN'T see what's ordered (IRS H/D's "disappearing" <cough> ) that you have the most problems. ALL orders from PotUS should be in writing.

sigh....
http://www.archives.gov/federal-registe ... ition.html

all executive orders, at least since a numbering scheme for them was instituted in 1907, are keep as records.
its not the media that's clueless... most of the talking heads are editorializing and are merely founts of propaganda supporting one side or another with cherry=picked information ( I avoid the use of the word 'facts' here ).
It people who blindly believe whatever they are told, that are clueless. Most people listen to media outlets that parcel out information/opinion that matches the listener's own preconceived ideas.

True. Much of it is calculating. Which is why they have people screeching about exec orders being unconstitutional and comparing #'s issued when that is how the Exec branch has to function in order to get things done. It is like complaining about military issuing orders to soldiers on the command chart.

That is why whenever someone brings that up there is no list of supposedly unconstitutional Exec Orders and an analysis via-a-vis the Constitution...

I would be funny except for the tragic fact that so many people have zero understanding of the highest law of the land.

Ok, before this gets out of hand. Can we get back to Traveller and avoid real world politics?

I ran another impact sim and it seemed that ~45 degree angle of impact gave the biggest damage.
