2300AD News

Postby MongooseMatt » Tue Jan 31, 2012 3:43 pm

Just to let you all know, this book is about to go to print.

It is much bigger than we had originally intended, and thus it has had to have a price rise. However, if you pre-ordered it (and an awful lot of you have), do not worry about that - consider the lower price you paid a bonus for having the patience to wait this long!

We expect to see copies around the end of February.

How much bigger? Is your website's current price of £34.99 the pre-order price? And if not, how much is the pre-order price?

EDIT:
PS. Is 2300AD the kind of campaign which can see BBC2's Star Cops or Kim Stanley Robinson's Martian trilogy being played out?

Well, it was supposed to be 125,000 words, and I gave them about 150,000...

Basically, yes. It is more interstellar in scope, but there is some information provided for the moon and Mars. Technology levels are roughly in the same ballpark, and 2300 even has Mars' orbital elevators.

It is a similar hard-SF setting to both of those.
