As far as I am concerned COTI seems to be an excellent forum for Traveller.

Actually, there are 10 sections of this forum that don't have a moderator, including this one. There was one assigned awhile back though never did see that one post anything.Vile wrote:LBH, isn't there any way you could prevail upon Matt to appoint at least one moderator to this forum? It seems a tad odd that this is the only place that doesn't have one, even though Traveller must be one of the main Mongoose properties at the moment.
The Classic Traveller forum on CotI is a good one, with a great deal of information, and plenty of helpful people. It also tends to be quite lively, with a fair bit of activity.
And for my part, I apologize for my role in the derailment. That discussion should have gone off-line, or better yet, simply ignored.

I don't think this post breaks my promise to "drop it", but, in parting, I do want to make clear that I think CotI is a fantastic place for Traveller information, especially my favorite version (is there any other?Colin wrote:The Classic Traveller forum on CotI is a good one, with a great deal of information, and plenty of helpful people. And, there are a lot of good people still posting at CotI.
The problem there is the mods--not the other members or the lines of discussion.
I hated to post this, because I am dropping it. But, I do think its important to make that distinction.
Who knows. I may return to CotI one day. I've just had enough of the mods for now.
Time heals all wounds, though, as they say.
We'll see about the future.
I never had any problems with COTI mods, but I rarely post there ( I only lurk there now... ) because of the level of arguments concerning canon minutia which sometimes even involved some finicky rules-lawyering and personal interpretations about what is and is not 'Traveller'. I felt that sharing ideas often led to 'discussions that seemed petty to me. This is a hobby and sharing there just didn't bring much enjoyment, so I stopped.
I pretty much post my ideas only on SFRPG now. I feel SFRPG is more open to non-standard/non-canon ideas than other boards.
This is just my opinion.

When I became a mod I was given mod rights on almost every area that existed at the time, since then many new areas have cropped up for which I have not ben ngiven mod rights, it's one way to spot the newer areas of the forumsAndrewW wrote:Actually, there are 10 sections of this forum that don't have a moderator, including this one.
