This was the best THING that ever happened to Traveller.
I love MT2 what a game. The prob with GT is you didn’t have Social Standing any longer and man, did that suck for me.
Long live MT2. Love this version of Traveller.
Any METAPLOT ideas would be much appreciated like the GDW versions had.

Re: Split from GT
GURPS Traveller did have Social Standing, in the form of advantages and disadvantages. It just isn't an attribute in the same way as Dexterity, Intelligence, Strength, and Health are.
Re: Split from GT
Was GURPS Traveller a split or an avenue for a different game system similar to T20 and HERO Traveller?

Re: Split from GT
GURPS Traveller is GURPS characters in the GURPS universe using names from Traveller. See Traveller with XP leveling and Hit-Points.
Re: Split from GT
GURPS Traveller should really be called GURPS Third Imperium. It is an ATU divergent from the OTU, and is often termed the Lorenverse.
Re: Split from GT
Universe differences aside, I’ve found several of their supplements useful in my MGT2 campaign. Particularly Far Trader (for economics of interstellar trade) and the one on starports. But I like the core rules and general flow of gameplay of MGT2 much more than GT.
Re: Split from GT
Gurps Traveller has some nice supplements. I bought the Gurps Traveller modular cutter book just for the bazillion different cutter modules and different sized cutters.

Re: Split from GT
Agreed. I dislike the GURPS system, but they did a good job with their supplements.
Re: Split from GT
I feel supplements are the main selling point of gurps. They put a lot of effort into them.

Yes. All of the Traveller GURPS sourcebooks are worth having. I also use stuff from Traveller 5.10.Linwood wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2019 10:24 amUniverse differences aside, I’ve found several of their supplements useful in my MGT2 campaign.
