Trying to chase down rumors of such a bridge could make for a good mini-campaign. Start with maybe some lost First Imperium corrupted data stores that supposedly mention such a bridge, follow with a legend from a scout that went looking for it and vanished - until the ship is reported in a dying orbit in a system far away, possibly victim of a misjump. Throw in some competition, maybe some interests who are trying to block a bridge or a loony Truther who’s convinced evil ancient aliens call that place home.

Then see where it leads....
