[Pirates of Drinax: Treasure Ship] Marine battledress question
I'm currently running "Treasure Ship" and I have a question that might have come up in one or more of your campaigns. The players want to either prevent the marines from getting to their battledress and as a stretch goal, might want to obtain one or more suits of the battledress. In your game, is marine battledress biometrically secured? Can someone just throw on a suit and it's operational? Or do you envision security countermeasures would prevent it or make it difficult?

I would rule that Battle Dress is highly tailored, to the extent that significant changes in a person's physical fitness will necessitate a trip to the shop for a re-tailoring.

I could see it definitely being tailored to fit giving a penalty until it’s modified. As a side note my players disabled the armory and marine quarters doors so they were held captive until the pumped knock out gas’s through the air supply. They wanted to avoid a lot of battledressed marines too b

Hard to justify that something powered, computerized, worth several hundred thousand credits, and extremely destructive wouldn't have a high level of security to prevent a lucky thief from powering it up.
Unless they get themselves assigned as marines - which I would consider far less likely than being a temporary engineer or deckhand for a couple of months -- disabling the marines and/or their battledress to even the odds is the way to go.

My guys tried this, too, but they tried to sneak the gas, explosives, and other supplies aboard on a stealthed drone which was spotted and destroyed by a marine guard wielding a PGMP-12. Several of the players secured a contract in engineering, and are already aboard. They did a nice job scoping the place out, but without their gear and the Martin II making for Acrid now, the players have their task cut out for them!
