Traveller Mongoose 1E Core Rules are available on Fantasy Grounds

Postby Cheesy_Nacho » Fri Jun 22, 2018 10:47 am

Just seen that Traveller Mongoose 1E Core Rules and Tripwire are available on Fantasy Grounds.

This is great news, but does anyone know why 1E and not 2E?

1E was released under an Open Game License, so the SRD is freely and legally available for them to use in Fantasy Grounds. This is also why it could be used as the basis for the Cepheus Engine rule set.

If I understand correctly, the ruleset author started this as a personal project to learn how to create a ruleset. Along the way, he got tapped to create the WOIN ruleset, which took precedence. Ultimately, he decided to finish the 1st ed ruleset rather than abandon it to do 2nd ed, but I believe he plans to use it as the basis for eventually doing a 2nd ed version.
