2e Rules Questions: Move & Aid

Been playing Traveller 2e and I'm loving it!

Couple of questions:

1) If you wanted to run, could you take 3 Minor actions and triple your movement? If not, how do you run?

2) Is there a rule or best practice on helping another character? Maybe spend you action to create a Boon for the character your helping perhaps?

1) That is my understanding,

2) Set it up as a task chain perhaps?

In the athletics skill there is an Athletics (dex) run check.

It gives 24 + effect meters in distance, but the traveller can't do anything else (not even dodge). However, moving fast can provide with penalties to be hit.
