Re: for fun: name some movies in the 52nd century
The Third Imperium is set in the 57th century, so you want to know about movies from 500 years ago in the Imperial setting? Imperial year1105 is AD 5623.
Re: for fun: name some movies in the 52nd century
Is that based on the book?

Re: for fun: name some movies in the 52nd century
So I guessed the wrong century.
I was going to avoid XX sequels, but... failed.
Star Wars 33: The Return of Palpatine, Yet Again. This one is only popular in the area of the Solomani Rim. Speaking of which...
Terra Retaken, an 8th remake.
Comedy series: Mr. iid, with a spying K'kree disguised as a talking horse, but the lonely owner is partially blind. Many laughs come from the disguise failing in some way but just out of sight of the owner as the K'kree hurriedly fixes it.
But why not have 500 year-old entertainment still viewed? Just because movies aren't that old in our time does not mean entertainment stories have to be new. Shakespeare's works are still reproduced after 400 years. Homer's the Iliad and the Odyssey are still told after 1000s of years. There could be even older stories told on Vland.
Re: Orbital Decay. I made up the name on the spot. I did not know that name had been used. How about: "Orbital Fall", a not-knockoff and there's lawsuits involved.

Oh don't think the copyright is going to last that long on it (it isn't Disney after all).GamingGlen wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 12:15 pmRe: Orbital Decay. I made up the name on the spot. I did not know that name had been used. How about: "Orbital Fall", a not-knockoff and there's lawsuits involved.

You sure? There's now a Walt-like skinjob "AI" that has been running the company for over 200 years. They bought a lot of rights to various entertainment companies throughout history.AndrewW wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 3:30 pmOh don't think the copyright is going to last that long on it (it isn't Disney after all).GamingGlen wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 12:15 pmRe: Orbital Decay. Thinking... Harry Potter... hmm... Hairy Putter? Yeah! Let me see if that isn't some porn movie already made...
Well, not on the first page of a Google search, but it is the name of one episode of Spaceballs, the Animated Series. Wait, what?
*sigh*

The Line of Duty - Edgy drama series covering a group of young recruits to SolSec uncovering a number of plots that infer Vilani interference in Solomani affairs (banned in Vilani)
Surviving with Bear Senshals - Docu-drama series covering well known Survivalist Bear Senshals taking a group of Tri-Vee "stars" and teaching them how to survive on different extreme planet locations - last series caused uproar as Emin Tracel alleged that the elg amputation she receive3d was actually part of a paid incentive with the new bionic leg and a guaranteed book tour afterwards being wrapped into the deal.

Rebel With A Cause - a series centered on an Imperial spice merchant who is actually a clandestine operative for the Ine Givar. Revered for its scathing and often hysterical look at Imperial nobility, military, and economic policies as well as the charming band of anti-heroes whose fictional exploits are tied into current Imperial news items.

[/quote]
Lol!!
I think there are "special" tri-Vee channels that cater for the Aslan equivalent of Porn....
kyeyae teiiya - Obtain Respect - This is an animated guide for males on how to attract females, including gaining land, performing rituals of abeyance to respectable clans, formalizing slurs etc. It is treated as "naughty" as aslan males should know this through formal instruction from respectable elders and not degusting easily shared animated nonsense,
werleiai weiee - The Needs - Secretive offline shared media of a set of instructions on ensuring males are taught by females to pleasure them correctly (with live action guides) as well as tips on how to distract males when such attention is not required as well as how to ensure your males ego is suitably buffed up in normal day to day exchanges. Nothing salacious in human standards but considered a secret taboo instruction manual that males should not be aware of.
Hiver "Porn" - consists of collections of other sophont alien porn that the Hiver will only watch when in that company, typically the Hiver gets more excitement from monitoring the reactions of those sophonts watching it than them selves. there is also a handshaking technique document that is available, showing various finger positions that can be adopted during exchange of material, it is thought but not yet proven that Hivers created this to "fit in" with other Sophonts predilection for explicit sexual material.
Zhodani - The REDACTED shows alot of REDACTED and people found thinking of REDACTED are normally taken and REDACTED

Oh, I combined the jump drive horror stories into a series:
The Jump Zone - a series of movies over the decades with a robotic host, Zed Stiirlaan, involving the horrors around jump space. "The Collapsing Bubble" frightened many people from travelling the stars for a while. Many of the movies usually focused on monsters living in jump space and getting onto a ship, with the scariest by fan votes involved a monster with psionics, "Monster of the Id".
