The AOD FFS book is out in hard back. Updates to rules are usually put in the forums so you can correct your rules if there's any errata. I dont know if Mongoose updates there PDFs I just said they might. I dont think there is a double standard.

I also like paper copies myself. I have found that I like loose leaf the best then I can stick them in a binder and change update pages by printing them out and substitute them in the rule book. Im hoping this is possible with the WWII VAS rules.
Being able to print a page then substitute it in your rules as the correct one is owesome.

Im hoping to help Mongoose have a full support sytem set up for the new VAS WWII rules in the forums. Im willing to help with this when and if it happens to keep players updated, corrections posted if there are any, What if ships, new scenarios etc.

Is the errata out to correct/add the missing American ships? At a minimum that needs to be the West Virginia's, the 1920's South Dakota's and the Lexington class BC's as well as possibly the Panama's as every IJN ship ever mentioned in a naval architects doodles are included already.

To be honest my mistake (not MGP's) was not to edit out the weird and wonderful Japanese ships. FFS (there's a catchy acronym :D ) was really meant to cover WW1 only, rather than moving into "War Plan Orange" hypotheticals.

I'm OK with dropping the 'might have beens' including the already laid down US and IJN stuff but Nagato/Mutsu are legitimate had the war lingered as is certainly the West Virginia's.

I would at least like to see the Wee Vee and her sisters even if the Lexington & South Dakota's stay out.

if i can find some free time in amongst the time I'm spending sorting out the real RN, family issues and trying to find a new home I'll see what I can do to create stats for additional ships. But it won't be quick I'm afraid.

Good luck on the house.

Does the real RN want to buy some slightly used LCS? I know a Navy on the other side of the pond that would happily unload some..cheap.

Will the upcoming second edition of the core Victory at Sea rulebook mean that this file, and the Age of Dreadnoughts book it's designed to work with, will soon need to be re-published in the new format anyway; or are the two eras being kept apart in terms of rules?

Seperate - when you see the new VaS, you will get my meaning, as it really is a Big Work, not just a new edition with a few more tweaks.

It _is_ possible that WWI could get the same treatment in the future but, believe me, we are not even thinking about that now, as books like this really are a lot of work. I reckon we could do one every two years at _best_, and it is entirely possible we may do Cold War and/or Modern as the next era anyway.

Talk to me in ten years time, and maybe we will have done WWII, WWI, Cold War, Modern and Age of Sail, and just be about to do Ancients, all with 1/1800 scale models :)

Ancients and Age of sail would be awesome.
Maybe do a predreadnaught Expansion for AOD or The Russo-Japanese War (8 February 1904 – 5 September 1905) Expansion.

No wonder you have been silent in the VAS PT other than when really needed.

LOL, if only it was that simple, and it was only the RJW book that was keeping me busy :)

Id like to see that if you get some time to email me your work so far. Probably wont play it would enjoy working on it and studying the war.
