Japan - Takoya CL

Postby Spectrar Ghost » Fri Dec 24, 2010 8:11 pm

In going through the Japanese ship cards on DMs website, I came across a card for the "Takoya-class light gun cruiser", a 16kT displacement vessel with eight triple six turrets. I'm intrigued. Planned completion seems to have been '45, so it's keel must have been laid by the end of the war, I'd think.

I can't seem to find any other mention of this vessel anywhere with my limited Google Fu. Any more info people can give, and any good [print or online] sources for this vessel?

I think this was a hypothetical that the card author slipped in there.

That was the conclusion I came to after finding several of the other vessels in a never were/own design page. There certainly is a question of the feasibility of putting 8 triple sixes or 8 twin eights (Kamiyo-class card) on an ostensibly 16kT hull.
