Converting raw data to VaS stats

Postby Andymadwash » Sun Nov 22, 2009 12:58 am

Does anyone have the formula for converting raw ship data into VaS stats?
Damage, Crew, Speed etc. It would be handy to know when creating ship cards which aren't covered in the fleet lists, esp in Burgers Ship Viewer.

Cheers, Andy

I know this post is dated, but I would like to know the answer to this question as well. Anybody? Or is there somewhere on this forum where you can direct me to the answer?

I had requested this info also, in the rules master forum. It's easier to get the chemical formula for the solid fuel used by the space shuttle.

You can work some of it out for yourself (for instance based on weapons ranges the ground scale is 1" = 1000yards). The thing to remember when coverting speeds, a Nautical Mile is 2000 yards, versus statute mile which is 1760 yards.

There is some inconsistency in the game with weapon ranges and armor/target scores. I was told in another post this is to reflect crew quality (thought thats what the command score was for). Generally these are not real difficult to guess.

David Manley will provide an official set of stats, if you request them by ship class or aircraft. I have to say, they are really great on here about providing specific ship and aircraft data when requested.
