Firing main guns and spotting question

Postby DSV1 » Fri Feb 02, 2007 12:12 pm

As the play goes alternately is this sequence correct ?

Bad Weather

Player A (Bismark) trys to spot Hood at long range and fails

Player B (Hood) successfully spots Bismark and opens fire

Player A (Lutzow) automatically spots Hood and opens fire

Is that correct ?

I hate to say it but...

Why is the Lutzow firing on the Bismark?

ok, now player A is firing on his own ship?

any ship that firs his main guns is spotted. Assuming you meant for A to fire at the Hood in the second action, then yes you're right. Remember spotting is only broken after getting over 20" away from all enemy ships.

Yep, I think you've got it. In Bad Weather and Night games, a ship is automatically Spotted once it fires it's main guns.
In your example Lutzow can fire on Hood this turn because Hood's fire on Bismarck has given away Hood's position ("Spotted" her); next turn both Lutzow and Bismarck can fire on Hood provided they are all still within Long Range.
