Land of Ice and Stone

Postby Prime_Evil » Thu Jul 31, 2014 4:35 am

Ok...the PDF was listed on the schedule for a July release and we're now at the end of the month. And we still don't know anything solid about this product. Any chance of an update or at least some information to get us excited?

Apologies for this - the book is all edited and ready for layout, we are just waiting for some artwork to come through...

My guess would be Ice Age people and other peoples that live near the arctic/antarctic circles?

Why does waiting on art mean you can't tell people what the book is about content wise?

Because we could do a long set of preview text telling you what it is - or a short paragraph and cover art that shows you _exactly_ what it is.

The latter is more exciting :)

Even more mysterious! If you are commissioning original cover art, it must be something special. And it is apparently something that will be instantly recognizable. A licensed property perhaps? If so, what could it be? Let the wild speculation begin...

(Here's my attempt at crazy speculation...the return of Conan to Mongoose with a new sourcebook on Cimmeria  )

If we were going to do a Cimmeria sourcebook, believe me, we would call it Cimmeria :)

Hehe....I said it was wild speculation...but at least now we can probably rule out a revamped Conan license as the subject matter :)

Still...it sounds like you have something cool lined up for us!

Nice detective work!

And this is a cool topic for a book - so far as I am aware nobody has touched the topic since GURPS Ice Age :D

I like the idea of a campaign with a Clan of the Cave Bear vibe - and Spirit Magic would work very well in such a setting.

I wonder how similar it is to the old Basic Role-playing game 'Hominid' (that is out there on the web somewhere)?
The desire for a "definitive, ultimate answer" is, in fact, classified by modern psychiatric medicine as a mental illness.
