Hey Wolf, will you be keeping us updated on the progress of the Legend setting you will be working on, as you have done with SGB in the past?

Once we nail down some specifics and I get the all-clear from Matt, I'll be working on this as transparently as I can.

That's a good idea. I hope that the experience of the Xoth books has shown that feedback during the development process improves the finished product. I hope it also helps to get fans enthusiastic about the finished book and build some sales momentum....

I couldn"t agree more, P_E. The anticipation for the SGB books, that was built up was great!

I think that an open development model works well for games such as Legend. It ensures that the finished product is aligned to fan expectations and helps to build some buzz around it. Plus it shows the commitment of the publisher to Open Gaming. The fact that it also helps to avoid mistakes and ambiguities is an added bonus...

Legend hasn't managed to build up the kind of third-party publisher community that Traveller has, but that is partly because the brand name isn't so widely recognized and partly because it lives in the shadow of the D&D / Pathfinder juggernaut. It does have something to offer though and can act as a gateway to other d100 games that are further from the traditional fantasy model - Call of Cthulhu, BRP, RQ 6, OpenQuest, Clockwork & Chivalry, etc.

I just hope that it doesn't only cater to the Sword & Sorcery fans as there is already enough (imo anyway) material to cover that in all the D100 family.

I would appreaciate something more High Fantasy or the middle ground between those two :)

Keep up the good work in any case!

Does that mean that we should start saving up our money now ready for a shiny new PDF?

Going through the text right now - Sheoloth is a thoroughly _nasty_ place to be :)

It got somewhat nastier. For anyone wondering about more from the setting, be prepared for a series of books that will expand on the core Sheoloth setting book.

I'd also like to know more about the world beyond Sheoloth - what kind of subterranean cultures exist and how do the dark elves interact with them...

There are hints in the Sheoloth book, but my plan (if I'm allowed to expand it) will be to do what I do best (see Blackrock) and go into world design mode fully.
