Only two weeks to go before the end of the world

Is everyone prepared.

Food and water stocked. Emergency and survival goods stacked on shelves and in cupboards.

Re-enactment weapons or base ball bats, crowbars and fire axes ready for fighting of the Zombies, Feral animals, Dinosaurs, Feral humans, mutants etc.

Mail, plate or decent leather armour and a motorcycle helmet with full face visor (keeps the zombie splatter out of your face) for defence.

Building stores, lumber, nails, steel wire etc ready for re-inforcing the house.

Or a good stock of alcohol so you can get drunk while counting down to the end

Two weeks today and its the end of the world so you all need to be ready.

Anyway what is the betting pool on:

Zombie apocalypse.

Insanity causing Pandemic that turns the infected feral.

Return of Cthulhu.

Alien motherships hovering over our major cities firing death rays.

Dimensional anomalies releasing something from another era (dinosaurs, monsters etc).

Huge asteroid hitting us.

They've been wrong every other time they've said the world is going to end, surely they'll be right at some point due to the law of averages?

Yesh guys. This is an RPG, fantasy and science fiction forum.

Aside from the fact that it is a once in 5000 years event that will not be repeated for a 1000+ generations and should be noted like any other such "I was there, that day" event.

However where is the fun, the humour. Its the End Of The World.

Do you tell little children that Santa is a myth.

Speculate, take part in the fun. If this was an RPG what is going to happen next?

So nevermind all the post-"end of the world" stuff mayan's pointed at ;)

Funny how people keep refering to mayan calendar ending there and claim they predicted end of the world WHEN MAYANS REFER TO EVENTS BEYOND THIS DATE! Say something about perfect example of selecting only evidence to support your theory and nevermind contradicting evidence :D

It's like I would roll dice 100 times, take only rolls of 6's, forget all other rolls and claim dice is screwed as it rolls only 6's.

Umm. All I need to repeat this is to invent my own calendar. One that has cycle of say 100 days. Same event will then happen once in 100 days. Whopedoo. Interesting event. NOT!

I am willing to bet anyone here £1,000 that the world will not end on 21st December 2012. If you believe that the world will end and you accept the bet, good luck collecting it if you win. :P

Otherwise, I recommend that on 21st December you party like there's no tomorrow, and if you're still around on 22nd then party again because there is tomorrow. :D

edit: Now it's 22th on some parts of the world. Still kicking alive it seems...

I don't want to worry people, but I've got a calendar that ends on the 31st of December.

No offence but I'm going to enjoy the day after that. Maybe take my girl to a movie.

Hobbit if it's still showing.

My End of the World bet is on the US government taking everybody off the Fiscal Cliff into an economic abyss by New Year's Day...just when we thought we were finally seeing some daylight after the last Depression (...errr, the Great Recession as everyone calls it) of 2008, a bunch of power-hungry politicos are there to stomp on our collective fingers to send us back... :(

Me? I still prefer a good Zombie Apocolypse, at least they're honest about their motivations.

You're right about the politicians. More likely than Zombies and harder to kill to boot.

Plus with a Zombie outbreak no one gets upset when you shoot the zombies, shooting politicians is generally frowned upon

True. So we'll just say that it's the last day of the calendar and I'm playing Pathfinder with my Fiancee, listening to her describe the plane of dreams to us (she's bringing D&D in, which is fun!) while enjoying our new laptop. I'll let you know if there's a tomorrow. :P
