The Spam Reporting Thread

Postby alex_greene » Sat Oct 25, 2014 5:13 pm

The original spam reporting post having apparently evaporated just now before my eyes, this will have to do as the official spam reporting thread, until a higher-up posts another one.

When reporting spam, please report to this thread. Name the spambot, the forum the spam appears in and a link to the spam. We'll do the rest.

Thank you.

The old thread was getting a bit large.

The report option does the job as well.

I don't get anything from reports, I do get a lot of notifications via this thread, just saying.

ALso if it isn't already, I'll sticky this.

I end up getting more from reports then this thread, but check both. I'm guessing it's probably fixed now so you can actually see those.

pletcherkuo

Other Miniature Games/Battlefield Evolution kickstarter.

It's either a very cheeky spambot, or someone's making an ironic comment at Lord Dai's expense.

While you're at it, you missed one of BopoiuasFah spam-posts, same thread, 2 posts up from pletcherkou's first post.

And another - pletcherpdg on Mongoose General Discussion/hobbies.

Not the whole thread. Who vanished the whole damn Other Miniature Games/Battlefield Evolution kickstarter discussion, just because of some spam? Delete the spam, yes - but leave the rest of the thread there.

Thank you Alex, with that in mind, it is with great trepidation that I report this spam:

ZiohireyeBill

6 instances, all in the Other Miniatures Games/Battlefield Evolution kickstarter thread.

Any chance you could leave the new thread and just delete the spam, this time? Please? Pretty Please?

There is a strange message on viewtopic.php?f=26&t=39643&p=848892#p848892 which may be spam.

I may be stretching my luck a little by reporting these threads as spam but they are so off topic, so unrelated to Mongoose Traveller that I can't see any other recourse other than to report them as spam.

I enjoy the diversity of threads here but they need to have some connection to MgT!

You probably are.

But Tom Clubfoot's skewed Weltanschaaung left me cradling my face in my hands. I mean, full double eyes covered facepalm.

What happened? Something in the water?

Also, who's got the admin rights to scrub those particularly pernicious racist comments that I have just seen and now cannot unsee? All I can do is just delete the usual porn spam from J Random Spambot. Verbal poison from a living forumite who should know better - that's two pay grades above my level.

Well, perhaps just moving them to the off-topic section would suffice.

Or locking them down and letting the big dogs see the damage.

Which I have just done. To both threads.
