Armageddon 2089: Standing Together

Postby msprange » Wed Aug 21, 2013 10:13 am

Our friends at Antimony Sun are just in the process of launching the second novek,l in the Armageddon 2089 Shotgun Mike series, Standing Together!

Written by MJ Dougherty, this is a real page turner, depicting the British War of Independence in the latter part of the 21st Century.

It will be live on Amazon/Kindle later today (and Kobo, Sony, iBooks, and Diesel over the next couple of weeks), but you can already grab it in most formats at;

Smashwords: https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/349586
DrivethruFiction: http://www.drivethrufiction.com/product ... g-Together

And now on Amazon/Kindle:

UK: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Standing-Togeth ... B00EONMEB2

As I'm something of a Luddite when it comes to books - are there plans for a real book version?

At the moment, I am afraid not. However, I recommend anyone takes the plunge with a Kindle - I used to say I preferred 'proper' books, but am a complete convert now :)

Yeah, I'm out too. I don't see the point in buying the right to 'buy" the right to view the book, and not the actual book itself. Mongoose can't do print-on-demand?

Also, there's no real guideline for what makes a balanced encounter in the Armageddon 2089 book, or how such a scenario would be played out. There's no "DM's guide" as it were, no stock list of baddie mechs to throw at the PCs. There's also not enough "starter" mechs for players to buy in the main rulebook, just super-expensive ones. That's like putting epic-level gear in the Player's Handbook, it's just a bad idea. I skipped out on buying the supplemental books in the range because of these issues.

I hope this book series does well though, the Armageddon 2089 line certainly needs some love.

enjoyed the first immensely and so bought as a pdf - but would prefer it as a proper book as well :)
