I was more than thrilled to see that Mongoose Publishing started to print Traveller line, which is the only RPG I have ever felt so strong for, but now in the overstock sale, when I bought and received a copy of the Main Book, i found that either some stuff got erased when it hit the printers or that Mongoose has clearly not proof-read it, or the books in fact that are sold on the overstock sale are old copies that are known to be full of errors.
In many instances of the book, i noticed strange things on the tables and just to give you some examples:
Page 33: Ancient technology table: The table is cut after result 2 and the rest is not found in the book
Page 140: Enconter Distance: does the d6 in the table show how many blips on the screen there is as it is stated in the table: sensors check effect 4 2d6 5000 km?
Page 140 Mining Table: Result 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-11 states that ore available are 2d6 20, 2 dd6 50, 2d6 10 2d6 20 tons of ore.
Page 141 Jump travel: it always stays in Jump space for roughly one week (148 6d6 hours)
Page: 141 Misjumps: A merciful Referee, though, may wish to sibject his players to the most survivable forms of misjump, where the ship ends up 1d6 1d6 parsecs in a random direction.
Page 142 Radiation source : minor solar flare 1d6 100/hour
page 165-166 Trade goods table: under the heading Tons: it says 1d6, 1d6 5, 1d6 10, is the singile digit a bonus one get if one rull a good roll or what?
I did not buy a book to get a copy where there are so many typos and errors, and these are just a few - I have counted at least 60 instances in the book where things like the above or other smaller errors are found.
So it is possible to get a complete and proof-read replacement of the book or be refunded if i resend the book?
