Master of Orion Setting (For Traveller)

Postby Twin Agate Dragons » Sun Apr 04, 2010 4:48 am

I for one would be on Cloud 9 if Mongoose coould wrangle a license to develop an rpg incarnation of MoO. I'd hop it would be for Traveller.

MoO3 was pretty terrible, way too much micro-management. I'd hope that [Mongoose] could develop it treating MoO3 like it never happened.

It's a bit after the fact, but why would MOO make a good RPG setting? I've often thought about using MOO (or GalCiv, or any number of other 4X space games) as settings for RPGs, but I get stuck on why it would be cool.

You need a "roleplaying friendly universe" and most of the time, these 4X games are optimized for space empire battles.

I think it's easier to simply make your own setting using Traveller rules and simply take your aliens from these sources...
