AVP in 2010?

Hi there!

I was just thinking about the new licences for 2010. Is AVP on the table now that Mongoose is part of the Rebellion Group?

All previous mentions of an aVP minis game, Mongoose has stated the licence fees would be prohibitively expensive

Maybe Rebellion can get it a bit cheaper as a tack on to their video game licence?

Doubtful. Companies like Fox aren't in it for the franchise, they're in it for the cash, and with Aliens and Predator both being MAJOR Fox franchises, they're gonna rake in every last dime they can get. It would be cool, but it would end in a major loss to Mongoose as the product would probably never sell enough copies to cover the licensing fees.

Take a look at S&P wargamer, issue 30. It explains why it was not possible.

Of course, Wizkids then came out with a collectable version...

And I imagine that Topps/Wizkids still hold the AvP, even if they are not currently producing games.

That is only partly correct. WizKids LLC was in talks and developing the concept long before Topps purchase.
