Resident Evil RPG/Mini's Game

Postby Strom » Thu Jul 05, 2007 2:58 am

Apparently, my Resident Evil request has slipped beyond page 5 on this forum and is lonnnng gone. I blame the Umbrella Corporation!

I'll rant and rave again how Mongoose Publishing should snatch up this license and then create one wicked sweet RPG and miniatures game detailing the incredible world the Umbrella Corporation has created and is ruling. No limit to the scenarios and supplements that would expand beyond virus outbreaks to include experimental warcraft and space exploration and possible alien races and encounters, etc.

I'll try to keep this thread bumped, but with the 3rd movie coming out and the dedication behind the franchise by it's fans, I'm convinced a Resident Evil license would really round out the Mongoose lineup while selling like antidotes at an Umbrella lab!

I'm not normally into RPGs, but if somebody made a Resident Evil RPG and minis for the combat portion, I think I may just break down and get it :)

With it's covert nature, I reckon Spycraft would be a good engine for this. By strange coincidence, Mongoose are about to print the second edition.

Use some of the monsters from D20 Modern.

If you've got d20 Modern or CoC that should give you all you need for a good RE game. ^^ I've ran that supplement myself to great effect. Hopefully, Mongoose will get RE one day cuz I would like to see it with a nice hardcover and RE minis would jus be cool as hell.

Excellent idea jonathan8604 and Poi. I know it could be done and I'm a fan of CoC and have come close to buying d20 Modern. But, I really think Mongoose could benefit from this license, for one. And two, authorized product is the only way to truly maximize the franchise as an RPG and minatures game. A fully supplemented game - like Conan or RQ - would be awesome and it boggles my mind that no one has done this yet. Maybe the price for the license is too high.

*nod* Quite so. Quite so. I jus posted that link cuz the material is good and might help to give you all a good RE fix for a while til someone picks up the license (..well hopefully anyway).

NOTE: When running the Resident Evil d20 stuff, make sure you start with fifth level characters. Zombies aren't very tough to take down so long as they're in smaller groups of one to three.. but when you become encircled by a horde with a +1 Base Attack Bonus things are looking pretty bleak. Not to mention the other monsters in there are quite vicious.

A board game or even miature game (of the survival genre with big campaign rules) would be most excellent.

Hmm. Never heard of that one before, harps. I'm always interested in checkin' out a new zombie game :D

While we're listing them though, if you're just lookin for a flexible (Accomodates both Romero/28 Days Later style zombies), fast, and fun zombie RPG, check out All Flesh Must Be Eaten. A personal favorite of mine.

Haven't checked into Year of the Zombie too much, but it looks pretty good as far as original post-apocalyptic zombie settings go. I'll have to try it n' report back.

Hello all, R evil so needs to be turned into a game.... so Bump indeed...

If you a fan of Evo, i have done my own set of Horror rules, mainly with slow and fast zombies...

Let me know a email address and i can send you the file...

WHATS NEW...

1.NO command range
2.fear rules based on the 10" reaction range etc
3. human list of people to play, like cops, fireman, lawyer etc
4.people have traits, like the cop has headshot, the fireman has brave, and lawyer is a coward etc..
5. full list of hand to hand weapons, from power drills to cricket bats, all weapons have traits, like fists are weak, a sword, can cut a head off in one blow etc....
6. i zombie design list, now you can roll up slow of fast zombies, and work out, where the virus came from, and the effects it has on people when bitten etc...

Not a fan of all things zombie, so i`m trying to write a system to beat them, so let me know if you need the file..

Thanks for reading
