US Navy Points

Postby Greg Smith » Sat Aug 11, 2018 9:15 pm

This was a little easier to do than the RN as there is a lot less. Also I have the RN to compare with.

Same thing applies to VT fuses, they are way to expensive at 5 points.
As discussed elsewhere the restrictions on the Atlanta's guns are very odd.
Des Moines: aircraft 4 isn't worth 20 points (even though they cost 5pts, observation aircraft are of little use outside scouting).
Omaha: there's 2 limitations on light guns that don't exist.

Destroyers
Clemson-class destroyer 60 points
Fletcher-class destroyer 55 points
Gridley-class destroyer 60 points
Porter-class destroyer leader 55 points

St. Louis-class light cruiser 110 points
Wichita-class heavy cruiser 145 points
Baltimore-class heavy cruiser 150 points
Oregon City-class heavy cruiser 170 points

Battleships
New York-class battleship 350 points
Alaska-class large cruiser 250 points
Colorado-class battleship 400 points
Nevada-class battleship 390 points

Wyoming-class battleship 250 points
North Carolina-class battleship 800 points
South Dakota-class battleship 825 points
Iowa-class battleship 850 points
Montana-class battleship 950 points

Grumman F4F Wildcat fighter flight 15/20 points

Lockheed Hudson torpedo bomber 20 points
Consolidated PBY Catalina bomber flight 15 points
Consolidated PBY Catalina torpedo-bomber flight 20 points

Carrier Points

This comes down to the points for a warship, with some light guns and precious little armour, plus the points for carried planes.

This assumes the Turrets on the Lexington are a big error. :D

Bogue-class escort carrier 100 points
Casablanca-class escort carrier 95 points
Long Island-class escort carrier 75 points
Sangamon-class escort carrier 100 points
Independence-class light carrier 105 points
Ranger-class aircraft carrier 220 points
Yorktown-class aircraft carrier 280 points
Wasp-class aircraft carrier 240 points
Essex-class aircraft carrier 270 points
Lexington-class aircraft carrier 260 points
Midway-class battle carrier 450 points

Slightly off topic but can you put more US destroyers in the game? There are only 4 in the game and there are about 11 others that are missing.

I will look into that! Any preferences for what you would like to see as a priority?

Sims, Gearing, and the Benson are some of those I would like to see. I guess we don't need them all but a few more couldn't hurt. :D

Northampton seems rather overpriced. It has similar stats to a Pensacola but is the same cost as a Des Moines
