Hi
Sorry if this has already been covered. But I am interested in purchasing the Lone Wolf Mega Deal for £399. It is a great deal. But also a lot of money, I was just wanting to make sure that it covers everything Lone Wolf related thats done by Mongoose. And also that you would be able to disbatch the complete deal or would I need to wait for out of stock items etc.

Best Regards

Steve

It does cover all Lone Wolf material, and we dispatch everything we have in stock at once - a couple of books are currently being reprinted for Megadeals, and they will follow as soon as they arrive in our warehouse.

Hope that helps!

I was going to post a reply that you wouldn't get 'all Lone Wolf' content, because the Multiplayer Gamebooks weren't included...but apparently they are.

Quote:
Furthermore, we will also send you every book in the Lone Wolf Multiplayer Gamebook range as soon as it is released, right up until you finally receive Lone Wolf 32!

That's a little frustrating because the original supporters of the Lone Wolf mega-deal when it was FIRST released haven't received any of the multiplayer gamebooks...we were told that they weren't part of the deal.

Now that they are being thrown into the pot I feel a little ripped off, however I'm still happy that I forked over that large sum of cash years ago to support mongoose and their re-release of the Lone Wolf books 1-32, plus the Lone Wolf 'novels'. (originally we were lead to believe it would be 2 trilogies...Dragon's of Lencia and Glory and Greed...plus any additional lone wolf novels that were released from the duration of books 1-32...but apparently back then they didn't consider the multiplayer gamebooks as 'novels'.

Terror of the Darklords is a campaign for the Multiplayer Gamebook, not a novel - sorry for any confusion.

Also, you have to consider that the 4 novels remaining in total (2 in both Trilogies) are not planned whatsoever. Both series seemed to be canned by Mongoose.

I also forgot to mention that the original mega deal promised books every 6-8weeks following book 1 and was $599...It seriously feels like mongoose is giving it's original customers the shaft...been here and loyal and patient since what, 2007?

I dug into ancient forum posts to recover the original promises made.

In what has rapidly turned into our worst kept secret, I can now reveal (some) of what is going on with Lone Wolf. . .

You may have already heard about the new Lone Wolf computer game coming out in early 2008 (we are told). We have seen some of the concepts going around for this project and, well, they are awesome!

For our part, we are going to be kicking into high gear with Lone Wolf. Have a look at the following projects. . .

Novels
Next year will see the release of two new trilogies set in Magnamund, and more will be following. You will be able to find these in most good bookstores, starting Summer 2007.

Gamebooks
Well, we have something special planned for Lone Wolf fans here! To begin with, we will be re-releasing all the original gamebooks - but with a difference. The first volume is currently being re-written by Mr Dever, expanding the story. Think of it as a director's cut. Subsequent volumes will feature all new art and gaming material, including a new mini-series of adventures running alongside the greater Lone Wold story.

That is not all - as you may have already heard, Mr Dever is also working on books 29-32, completing the saga that was started many, many years ago (Lone Wolf was actually my introduction to RPGs!). You can expect to see these late 2007/early 2008.

That is not all either, however. . .

While you will be able to pick these new Lone Wolf books up from your local book store, we will also have them available from our web site, and there will be a special treat in store for dedicated fans. Whether you take a subscription out to be sent the gamebooks as soon as they are released, or simply collect them one by one at your pleasure, anyone who orders the complete set from us (over whatever time period) will also be sent their own replica of the Sommerswerd, free of charge. We will have pictures of this magnificent blade next year, before the gamebooks become available. Drool at your leisure!

We will also be producing a new set of gamebooks, centred around another famous character in Magnamund.

Roleplaying Game
We spent a lot of time thinking and debating about the Lone Wolf RPG. We have decided to release a new Lone Wolf RPG alongside the gamebooks, with mechanics based on (though expanded) from the system found in the gamebooks themselves. Our intention here is to a) give Lone Wolf RPG fans a quick and easy to learn system allowing them to tour Magnamund, but mostly for b) a fond hope that we can bring new players into the hobby using the same road that we took all those years ago.

Life is going to get exciting in Magnamund!

Some were kept, some were not. I get the feeling they promised us the moon without truly understanding what they were getting into. With the results we all know.

Well, Mongoose is not exactly responsible for the video game being delayed, although Joe confirmed that it will... I mean, THEY will come out soon. Recently in Germany, he confirmed that a few games will come out for iPads.

I still remember the very first promise about a game/game contents that Mongoose broke in my customer lifespan, it doesn't irk me to think of it, but it all adds up over the years

i'm a huge, huge lw fan. bizarrely first 2 books i bought were 10 and 12 way back in the late 80s / early 90s. built up everything in between and beyond, including 1st ed. lw rpg. was ecstatic when mongoose announced their plans. sold my copies of 21-28 to pay for the mega-deal. must admit been a little disappointed but hope springs eternal. yes i paid the £300 not this new £399 deal (didn't know about it), still waiting for books 18-32 and the conclusions of promising novel trilogies. would i be greedy / git-ish to say i'd quite like copies of the multiplayer books as part of my mega-deal?

I can promise you some authors would absolutely love to bring you the rest of their novel trilogies too. :)

Not sure we can be held responsible for this, and the computer games industry is fraught with issues.

We have tried very hard to get Lone Wolf into mainstream stores, both novels and gamebooks, but no one is biting at the moment. We continue to try and, if we can achieve that, complete trilogies become possible. Simply put, mail orders alone will not pay what these authors deserve.

This is still true.

Now, this one we really did try hard (I mean, how cool would it be?), and ended up talking to one of the top weaponsmiths in the country. The problem is with the blade and, specifically, its colour. We could get a bunch of plastic ones done but to do it properly... technically difficult and very expensive.

This is also still true.

Another way of looking at it is a shrinking market, and economy down the toilet. There are also some other factors that I am afraid I cannot speak about at this time. However, Lone Wolf is a series we are very passionate about and, by hook or by crook, we will address as much of this as we can.

Look through the back issues of Lone Wolf fan club newsletter and you will find Matt's name among the fans.

That said, original Megadeal customers have paid for the the trilogies. I'd be pretty annoyed if I wasn't getting one. I'm glad I never had the cash for a megadeal.

Although they do get the cost of the books for much less than they cost now, so there is still a benefit. And the trilogies may still be completed at some point.

Yes. I guess from what Matt and August have said, they're not not dead, just resting. :)

yes that may all be true, but I still contend that original mega deal customers should have the multiplayer gamebooks included as a sign of good faith!
