Judges of the World

Postby Deathjester » Fri Oct 19, 2012 6:00 pm

Well thanks to the excellent kickstarter we can now all have Judge miniatures representing the different Judge forces from around Dredd's world.

Looking at what previews have been posted already, it looks probable that we will get 8 Judges in the box.

My question is what do people think the box will include as we already have the following international Judges:

Sov Judges
Brit Cit Judges
Hondo Cit - as in Inspector Inaba

Possible Judges:

Emerald Isle
Cuidad Barranquilla
Texas City
Euro City - as seen in the story Regime Change
Luxor
Oz
Sino Cit - as seen in the story Regime Change and Wargames
Hondo (already stated will be a new sculpt)
Pan African
Indo Cit - only seen Psi Judge Bharji
Vatican Judge - as seen in Crusade
Pan Andean Conurb - as seen in Sugarbeet

So out of a possible 12 available Judges' we know Hondo will be included but what about the other 7? from the artwork on Kickstarter Emerald Isle, Texas, Cuidad Barranquilla, Luxor and Oz are hinted at. with these I would really like to see the Euro Cit and Sino Cit Judges.

Ideally for me it'd be:

Luna-1 Marshal (original version, not the Breathing Space one)
Emerald Isle (Spud gun to chips!)
Hondo (male version - just a great design from MacNeil and McCarthy)
Banana City (Cuidad Baranquilla is one of my fave Dreddworld locations)
Texas City (love the hat)
Oz (love the shorts)
Cal Hab (love the Claymore)
Sino-Cit (there's a few versions of this, but they're all pretty stylish).

As to other choices, the Luxor Judge design is the only good thing about that awful strip, and I never want to see a Vatican Judge again after Crusade or an Dehli-Cit judge after Inferno. The Pan-African designs were terrible too. I can't visualise the Euro-judges at all, and the Antarctic City judge is very bland.

I love the slick version of the standard judge uniform that the MC-2 judges wore in Song of the Surfer, but I doubt it's distinctive enough at mini scale to be worth doing.

For fairly obvious reasons for anyone who knows me I would kill to see judges from Atlantis Division (ie Other) in the range. Of course judges on wetbikes may be out of place in the normal game, but there is no reason not to set a scenario or campaign on Atlantis itself :)

For me the 8 would have to include:

Emerald Isle
Cuidad Barranquilla
Texas City
Oz
Hondo (already stated will be a new sculpt)

These, along with the MC-1, Sov and Brits are the only real ones I'd use - any others would probably either end up as swaps, on ebay or used for nothing more than 'random painting practise'

Cuidad Barranquilla..Ideally the 'Gaucho' influenced uniform as worn by Cortez and 'Diablo'.

The CB Judges are as mean and corrupt as Hell and the Judges have featured intermittantly in the comic strips for decades.

I loved the Vatican Judge idea, remember reading one story about a game/competition between diffrent judges or somthing and Dredd going on a rant about how currupt there system was.

would love to see a Vatican Judge as a merc for the mob gang.

Of the "exotic Judges", anything outside of the European - Japanese axis would be nice, really. Voted for PanAfrican since I recall their look from the comics best, but Cino and Indo would be equally good.

Having seen the offering in Judge Dredd Crusade, I can understand why the Vatican judge would be so popular. On the other hand, the thought of a Cal Hab judge wielding a broadsword seems too tempting to pass up...
