Darkness Rising themed Tournament - Saturday 13th September

Postby Da Boss » Thu May 29, 2008 6:41 pm

Hi, It has taken a little longer to organise than I had anticipated but I would like to invite you to a Darkness Rising themed tournament on Saturday 13th September.

The tourney pack is here

Venue - Boughton House - (well the stableblock) , Kettering Northamptonshire, NN14 1BJ
www.boughtonhouse.org.uk

1. Planetfall (Skirmish level) - your fleet must have 1 Raid ship plus 4pts Skirmish,

2. Death Duel - (Assassination variant) - 5 pts Raid, each player also recieves either a Unique Admiral from their fleet list or a generic Admiral - normal ship placement rules apply (highest PL ship / or with Command trait, Chloe must be on a Shadow Star etc). Ship with the Admiral is the target of the Assassination. Both players may keep one ship in Hyperspace but not the Admirals ship. non unique Admiral abilities must be chosen in advance (preferably with a cool name and background!)

3. Annihilation, 3 pts War, each player must include at least one War or Armegedon level ship, they also receive either Chloe (in Shadow Star) or Lyta (in Mothership) depending on their chosen path.

Army of Light / Darkness Rules - each player may choose upto 1 FAP pt of Shadow or Vorlon allies per Game, subject to following rules from the new edition:

Shadow Only - EA, Centauri, Drakh, Narn fleets containing a Project 239 or Drazi fleets containing a DuskHawk, Dusk Falcon, Single race League fleets,

Vorlon only - An'lashok, Minbari, Narn, Psi Corps, , Any combined League fleet,

Prizes:

1st prize - Total Victory Painted by Derina,
2nd Prize - Shadow Star (as before), last - TBC

Entry fee - £7.50 - includes a donation to the Charity administering the House.

Lunch - A light buffet will be provided for participants.

Burgers Beam System (TM ?).
which works as follows, for each Beam AD - roll 1D6
on a 1-2 it misses, 3-5 it scores 1 hit. 6 its scores 3 hits.
Then roll for Bulheads, normal damage and criticals as usual

so a White Star fires its beam in turn 1
rolls a 3 and a 6 so scores 4 hits
and then in turn 2
rolls a 2 and 5 so scores 1 hit

Obviously Proxy ships are likely to be needed - a list of my conversions that are available for loan on the day are in the Pack.

Please let me know by PM or on this thread if you would like to attend (or would like to borrow ships)

Participants (Name / Race)

Alex - Centauri
Chandler - Minbari
Clanger - Drakh
Greg Smith - Psi Corps
Kennyboy - League
Sigma 357 - Centauri

thanks

Charles

Do you have a link to Burger's Beam System? I try to keep up with the forum, but I don't remember seeing these.

for each Beam AD - roll 1D6

on a 1-2 it misses,
3-5 it scores 1 hit
6 its scores 3 hits.

Then roll for Bulheads, normal damage and criticals as usual :D

so a White Star fires its beam in turn 1

rolls a 3 and a 6 so scores 4 hits

and then in turn 2

rolls a 2 and 5 so scores 1 hit

Just to be clear, that is two different turns of firing, yes? The BBS doesn't give beams rerolls after a hit does it?

EDIT : DB edited his post to be clearer.

Sorry, I'm running a Marathon that day. Would have loved to come along otherwise though.

If it were to be on Saturday, I'd be able to make it this time. Not that that's any pressure on you :P

With Saturday confirmed as the new date, consider me booked in :)

Look forward to seeing you all there and it'll depend on if I can get my Brakiri ready for Walsall (next weekend) on which way round I'll play Vree and which I'll play Brakiri.
