Body sculpted from polymer clay, the wings of a plastic card. Then made a silicone mold and cast in epoxy resin. Now I paint some more of the same for the squadron

@bobbyjack60: nice work on the Centauri ships. The colours are tidily done with no spill across borders.

The hexagonal stands indicate that these came from Agents of Gaming. They're also possibly a bit small, especially for the Primuses and Octurions - the models may be unstable on those. You may want to invest in some large stands from Games Workshop.

They did indeed come from AOG. I bought all most all my B-5 in late 1990's and early 2000's. My paint jobs where horrible and I packed them away in 2003. I recently recovered them and decided to repaint them and luckily, my skill has increased since then.

Vorlon cruiser:

Though this is the heavy cruiser model because that's the one which appears on screen, I'll probably mostly play it as a light cruiser. The only other Vorlon ships I have are a destroyer (actually a large scale transport) and four frigates/transports (small scale transports which can play as either variant), not enough to justify fielding an Armageddon level ship but perfect support for a light cruiser in a 5 Battle fleet.

First was an overall coat of yellow, then a light spray of dark grey to create a fine mottled finish. Inside tentacles were painted light blue and then dry-brushed with dark blue. Some medium grey stripes were painted onto the main hull. The entire grey band with the logo is a decal on a painted white stripe. The engine exhausts were painted light blue with a white dot.

Close up view of a special White Star:

One shield is on the upper surface of the starboard wing, another is on the underside of the port wing, and a pair of smaller shields are just aft of the nose guns.

Another First One - the Traveller, a.k.a. the Walker of Sigma 957:

Image

In "Mind War" the ship barges past Catherine Sakai's ship and then disappears into hyperspace, all the while on its side, saucer first. In "Into The Fire" the Traveller exits hyperspace upright, then tips over to present the sphere which is its main weapon; when it goes into hyperspace along with the other First Ones, it is again moving saucer first. But the bottom line is that the Mongoose stats have the main weapon in the forward arc, so that's where the sphere has to be.

There are some differences between the ship seen in "Mind War" and the one in "Into The Fire". The one in "Mind War" has the light blue rim seen in most photos of the Mongoose or Agents of Gaming model, the one in "Into The Fire" does not. Also, the sphere on the ship in "Mind War" is pink-purple with blue lights and is mounted on a cylinder. The biggest difference is that the one in "Mind War" was alone whereas the one in "Into The Fire" appeared with the other First Ones, and as I have the full set, that's the version I've copied for the model. So, a mostly black rim with blue lights, and lots of other lights depicted with fluorescent red, orange and yellow, or pink and light blue.

Screw you J. Michael Straczynski! You and your insanely hard-to-paint Narn ships.
