I won at Gen Con

Postby Bubba Ho-Tep » Mon Aug 20, 2007 6:49 pm

My first ACTA tourney and I pulled out the win. The only sad part is that there were only 4 players, but it was still a good time.

I just wish that more people would come play.

Minbari, I had 1 Sharlin and 2 Torathas.

I know alot of people complain about the stealth and all, but when I bought them, I knew nothing about the game, they were just my favs from the show. I have several fleets now, but still love the Minbari.

I had thought about trying a Vorlon Light Cruiser with fighters, but forgot to print the sheets out.

It was alot of fun and I hope they run it again next year.

Ya, not many people showed, but that allowed a newbie like me to win second. :D

It's a nice feeling winning your first tournament of a game, albeit mine was a doubles tourney, but still.

Congratulations.

I was going to make the drive but life got in the way. Past GenCon ACTA tournies have garnered a dubious reputation due to broken power fleets, not to mention it's an all day event which is a large chunk of the GenCon weekend.

What type of prize support did they have?

Hey man, glad to see you made it to the boards. It was a pleasure to play B5 with you.

No prizes other than a really cool medal, I'll take a pic and post when I get home.

It was fun playing in the tournament and it was good to learn the rules through seeing it played rather than reading a book to start with.

I was third in the match :D

To bad their was only 4 people and I won 3rd of victory points and not overall won matches

Played Earth Alliance:

1 Nova, 1 Omega, 2 Hyperions

Did not get to play against the Minbari, and I agree with Iron Knight (who is a friend of mine) that it was much more fun learning while playing then by simply reading the rules, hope to do better next year!
