After the discussion of the Armada 2 mods I started looking around for other mods/games. Stumbled onto this one...anyone ever try it out? I tried downloading it but I keep getting an error when I go to run the setup. Anyone know of any other mods for games other than Armada 2?

a WIP X3 mod:
http://b5.hc-gamer.de/
I found her should be on the net somewhere, try to google it.
A cool mod for Nexus (seems to be discontinued though):
http://b5col.firstones.com/
there are mods for homeworld 1&2, Armada 1, and freespace 2; you can look up firstones.com or google them if you can´t find it there

I could install it (was quite hard work) but it never really worked, I never figured out why. I'll try it in the future again, when there is a new major release.
But you might try this: http://babylon.hard-light.net/. It is based on the freespace 2 engine and looks not bad. Its also difficult to install.
http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index. ... ic=39708.0
This thread describes the steps needed to properly install it. I needed to try it 3 times till it worked.
If you get to the error where you need to extract the "ships.tbl", send me a pm, I still have it saved seperately.
//EDIT: This project only gives the base engine and graphics, missions and campaigns have to be downloaded seperately

Oh, about IFH: It´s pretty cool, a well done starfury sim, but it´s a hell to control the fighter, and don´t even think about getting lost in hyperspace...

Google has!
There was a link on firstones.com, but I think that one no longer works.
The mod is really good, not quite as many fleets as with Armada 2, but still fun - they have added sound files from the series (+ Crusade) to the ships (Vorlon transports telling you that "you have forgotten something" are fun!
)
It was a bit unbalanced though; EA was WAY too strong from midgame on. But they had a nice hyperion variant, the Midwinter class. Vorlons were part of the Minabri tech tree, I think shadows were with the Centauri
Should you find the link, please post it - I think I would like to play that one again.
Oh, did I mention that you could blow up planets?

There was a Homeworld 2 in progress though - but maybe that was discontinued?Lord David the Denied wrote:I've Found Her is pretty awesome but also pretty hard. Very realistic.
The Homeworld mod is for Homeworld one, not the sequel, which annoys me a lot...
IFH is ore realistic than even the series was - on screen Starfuries could change direction quickly by turning on the spot; they didn´t just fly backwarsd into the same direction as before...

There should be a readme, and I think an install.exe. If not, just extract it into the folder; it should work (somehow)

This is cute, just realised how old that mod really is after reading the last sentence of the readme:

Oh my, I´m feeling terribly old at the moment...Thank you for spending all night downloading BABLYON 5: Armada, and remember, if for for Diern~Shaw, this mod would be over 50 megs ZIPPED!!!!!!!! You'd be downloading all night

Oh, before applying the patch, you should first patch Armada to 1.2; the patch is on the same page as the mod. That should help with some of the bugs...
