Worth remembering this sentiment. It is a very common perception, but keep it in mind the next time a company brings out a new edition/army/supplement for a game.
The flip side is that companies are very often striving to keep the releases of some games tight. Victory at Sea, for example, was never intended to have a whole string of releases (and, as of next month, we will be averaging one a year). Does that make it a dead game?
People are still playing Gangs of MC-1. Again, while it has a healthy set of units available, it was never intended to grow its catalogue size beyond its current set.
It is a question of perception.

US eBay has 12 BF Evo sets listed in auctions, the UK site has one.
