Avenger, other EA and ISA photos

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to share some of my recent work with you on my EA and ISA fleet.

Here we begin with some (very simply) painted ISA White Star and White Star Carrier. I asked for some tips on painting them a couple of month ago, here's the result. I find it just "ok" but it was simple to paint, so i'm pretty happy with them.

Then, here are a couple of photos from my (growing everyday) EA fleets. I calculated last week i can now do a 5 points armaggedon fleet :-)

And for dessert, my take on the Avenger. I think everyone'll agree that the original mini is bland and i tried some modification with some BFG spare parts i had left. I'm curious to see how it turns out painted. I'm still hesitating for the colour scheme... Grey and blue like older EA ships or black with red openings like the Poseidon above ?

I like the Hyperion :-)

I would say on the avenger, give it the black and red look, it's a bit more menacing, especially with those big ass turrents on it :P

Very nice. I like the bridge on the avenger, it does round out the model nicely.
These pretzels are making me thirsty!!!

adding the bridge reminds me of the Saratoga from S:AAB, I know the bridge was at the back on that ship, but it's the same kind of shape overall.

that's the one i'm more inclined to do, especially as most "flat" avengers i've seen are Light grey and blue and it would accentuate the special side of the ship.

But as of armaggedon, i must admit that i prefer the Early years version of the Avenger Stats-wise, so i'm a bit inclined to paint it "Early Years style"...

ha, cruel hesitations !

I love the Poseidon. The bridge on the Avenger gives it a real aircraft carrier look.

Base colour of chaos black, then several brushes of shadow grey, then codex grey and some lining of space wolf grey.

Simple enough, even if i am not yet totally accustomed to lining according to a light source, so, sometimes, my linings are incorrects...

give the poseidon some antennas, those little details makes it looks really good...thrust me :wink:

Ooh, that does give the Avenger a nice look. If I ever try EA I'm glad I have spare Battlefleet Gothic parts. :lol:
