very nice, i really like the Narn there's a really nice contrast with the black and silver that goes well with the patterned areas.Hindsight wrote:The lighter White Star was painted on Monday and Tuesday, and the other four craft were primed and painted today, assembled yesterday.

There were not a lot of Dag'kar images online. Just a handful in the gallery, maybe like two or three. Not a lot of High Res images of this game in any event, and I had to decide what I wanted to paint myself. There are plates on the hull where I painted the red and the striping, or whatever you want to call the standard Narn scheme. I traced those plates, for my armor, and I like the result. It was based on the G'Quan screen shots taken from the show. Gray trim, around the red striped design.
I was unsure whether or not to paint the cockpit, or whatever that is, with that same striped design. I feel that the gray fits, and I like how it turned out, but it is one of those things, once you do the design somewhere, it wouldn't be too easy to just paint over it.
Kinda makes me want to go buy a G'Quan just to paint it.

Not a lot of room to be creative on the Nial fighters, I realize. I tried to keep the highlights and various blues in the appropriate areas. The fighter, in a larger scale, is very pretty, big guns mounted on each of the triangle tips... so capturing that was really just making sure they looked sleek on their flight stand. I used paperclips and drilled holes in a 40k small flight base instead of the octagonal base that they ship with. I have seen it done on the gallery, and really like all the models having the same base size.
Just waiting on my Sharlin from AOG now, and I'll get that up here as soon as it arrives. Can't wait to paint one of the classic blue Minbari ships. My LGS is all sold out of the neat lookin ones.

I think I was able to paint both Dag'kar's in a couple of hours. I am used to spending weeks on a project, painting regiments for 40k or Fantasy. I'd like the challenge. As it stands now, I keep buying more minis just to keep painting them. It is very rewarding being able to complete a project in a single night, and be very happy with the end result.
