Homebrew Files - Anla'shok
Web address for download
Okay, because I got so many requests, I went ahead and made a quickie free website to host the file. As I work on omre stuff, I'll be adding more files up there, but it might take a while. I like to be thorough with my writing, so I very rarely do a 1 or 2 pager.
Here is the link to the site. http://sommers.250free.com/
Please post any comments you have on it up here. I'm especially interested in any commenst from Matthew Sprange or any of the other writers.

Just had a quick flick through...
Just had a quick flick through so a couple of things...
A fair few "spelling corrections" have occurred giving Leon for Lenonn at one point, and Minbari instead of Minbar one point.
Entil'Zha - the title becomes reactivated with Sinclair so that Ranger One is known as Entil'Zha after this point, so whilst it is technically correct to say that there have only ever been three (by the time scale of Crusade), there will be more, and as you give the history up to Ivanova becoming Entil'zha you might want to correct that part.
And the stats for the Whitestar..? Where were those derived from? Please tell me these aren't the ones from the Minbari Factbook (I haven't got it yet)
Certainly the Whitestar is not a "Monitor". That would be a heavily gunned and relatively immobile system defence platform. The Whitestar whilst relatively heavily gunned, is a nippy little bugger.
Technically it should be either a frigate or a destroyer except we've got a problem with the way Destroyer is used by the EA and IA...

Got them, thanks. Its a little tricky between the planet and the people. And the Lenonn was too many computers involved.frobisher wrote:Just had a quick flick through so a couple of things...

Added in a little bit there.Entil'Zha - the title becomes reactivated with Sinclair so that Ranger One is known as Entil'Zha after this point, so whilst it is technically correct to say that there have only ever been three (by the time scale of Crusade), there will be more, and as you give the history up to Ivanova becoming Entil'zha you might want to correct that part.
Nope, I made those up the best I could as what we saw in the show. Sort of started as a scaled down Sharlin, added in something a little less powerful thatn the Vorlon living ship ability, and scaled up the main gun (the beam that comes out of the nose) as a combination between the neutron laser and the vorlon discharge gun. I'd like to hear any specific issues you have with them. And the stats for the Whitestar..? Where were those derived from? Well, that's the problem, isn't it? A destroyer should be smaller than a cruiser, but the opposite is tru between the Omega, the Nova and the Excalibur. You're right with your definition of monitor, but I was going more for the "Monitor", the small US Civil War ship that was maneuverable and low to the water. Mostly I thought it was a cool name because I couldn't really place it as anything else. I'm open to taking suggestions though.Certainly the Whitestar is not a "Monitor". I did make some of the changes and posted a new version up there.
Also, the guest reponse above was me from work, so I'm the one who said it was okay to give others groups the web address, and would appreciate any movement to make this article official.

Well, I came up with nearly the same exact thing. What I did was use the Babylon Tech webpage and then compare sizes and damages from what I could find throughout the books and the webpage. If I could find something approximatly the same size that's what I used to determine size. Then I added the SQ's that are specifically mentioned - pivotal thrusters because of how we see it maneuver, living ship qualilty (think of the things that are said within the show about it and the way Sheridan can take off with it by himself), and as for the weapons I came up with something sensable based on Minbari tech. Not as powerful, but comparable.
If anything I had a few more HP so that it would survive one hit from a Shadow Battle Crab, and it was faster than anything else out there (faster accelleration).

Hmmmm... a monitor was really a coast defence ship , slow , but well armed and protected , so , given that the ship's missions are scouting , escort , and attack , and that it has a long operational range , I would classify the Withestar as an attack frigate (as AoG did) .
BTW , I like a lot your approach to the Rangers , although I would consider them more like the Farscape RPG commando ( a sort of cross between soldier/officer and agent , capable both of combat and covert operations).

The impossible can be made , it only takes a little bit of time and effort .

Okay, an attack frigate. Or maybe a gunship? Not that it really matter a lot...Natxomann wrote:Hmmmm... a monitor was really a coast defence ship , slow , but well armed and protected , so , given that the ship's missions are scouting , escort , and attack , and that it has a long operational range , I would classify the Withestar as an attack frigate (as AoG did) .
Thanks. I was going for a cross, and enough felxibility that some would tend more towards combat, and others more towards the covert ops.BTW , I like a lot your approach to the Rangers , although I would consider them more like the Farscape RPG commando ( a sort of cross between soldier/officer and agent , capable both of combat and covert operations).
I think my favorite part of your setup was the multiple layers available in your prestige class setup for the Anla-shok. Great writing there as well. I'll definitely begin comparing this to what I will be reading in the sourcebooks when I finally get them.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
I have but one goal. Do not stand between me and that end.
I would have loved to have seen your write up as part of the basic book.Anonymous wrote:Pass it on to anyone you want.El Cid wrote:Looks fantastic!!!!! Thanks!!!!!
Is it alright to pass your website to other groups?

Also, feel free to petition Mongoose to make it an official part of the game and hire me as a freelance writer.
It's great!

Can I have a copy?
