Traveller Core Rules needed to play Traveller 2300 AD

Newbie needs to know if "Traveller Core Rules needed to play Traveller 2300 AD"?
I reside in the "Greater Seattle" area, and I saw at Amazon.Com; an advertisement for Traveller
2300 AD. The information provided was unclear, as to 2300 AD; being a "stand-alone" RPG.
Any data you can send to "Amazon.Com" to correct this, will be appreciated...
Also I noted that "The French Arm Adventure" is at the "printer". If you provide this data to Amazon.Com; I believe Amazon will add the title to it's "Preorder" list.

To my knowkedge, 2300 has it's own 'Core Rules' and the regular Traveller rules are not needed.

Sorry to disagree but if we are talking about the Mongoose Traveller 2300:AD then yes, you will need the Traveller Core Rules to play. 2300 is a sourcebook with some additions and changes to the rules and the background only.
