[CONAN] Mythos adversaries

Postby Phobos » Thu Feb 10, 2011 11:38 pm

Hi everybody!

Has anyone used cthulhu mythos monsters in their Conan campaigns? I´ve tried Shub Niggurath child and Hastur´s yellow sign, I think it fits very well with the grim feel the magic and supernatural has to got in Conan.

Opinions?

It´s the blood,
corpses;
under corpses.
Lifeless eyes, severed heads:
these are the words
that please to her.

Yes, definitely. I used the d20 Call of Cthulhu critters and spells to very good effect. The "sorcerer" template in that book makes for a very nice (and scary) alternative to the d20 Conan scholar.
Actually, with a few tweaks, the d20 CoC game works as well (or better) than d20 Conan at doing Conan! (it's definitely lighter in terms of rules, it is practically class-less, and the sorcery system is brilliant.)
