I contemplated not making a post here, but I have to say, it's fantastic the way the company who produces the product mans these forums.
The nature of forums tends to breed a number of users that will be gone by tomorrow, but if I didn't know otherwise, I'd like to say I'll be here for a long time to come.
Thanks guys, and great work.

This also means you'll have to publish some more Conan Classics adventures beginning with the "rogues in the house"
It is a long time till August though.

I'm definitely interested! But... I'm also a bit leery that I may have to do alot of damned conversions... I hope that's not the case.
Indeed, we'll have to wait and see...

Yeah... I have no desire to try and get my players to migrate to an entirely new game system. If Conan leaves the d20 rules behind then I'll stick with the books I have now.Sgt Zim wrote:I hope that's the case, but I fear we're going to get some intermediary step between d20 and Runequest. I fear the same for SST.

Currently, the changes made are:
* Adding in lots more OGL stuff
* Adding more moves in combat
* Adding in the temptress
* Reworking parts of the noble, thief, borderer, pirate
* Reworking Reputation
* Reworking Fate Point generation
* Reworking Defensive Blast and adding some new spells
There's more to come, but it's still the came core system.

Sounds and looks good. Enough changes to make the purchase worthwhile and hopefully not enough to change the heroic low-magic uniqueness of the original game.
I love the art! Quilliams has done it again. Definitely not a throw away image but one that forces you to examine just for the detail. Is this painting shown going to be the cover for the 2nd edition?
Interesting that the ad features so much about the magic of the game. Especially the lines about PC's using magic. maybe the game will make PC's scholars more accessible as a character. Not sure that is a good thing but maybe necessary to bring in more potential customers?

“Crom and his devils!”
Is it still something along the lines you suggested in this thread, with each style having an unique defensive ability (including some terror checks) ? You talked about getting rid of the "all sorcerers are walking bombs" situation. Will it be only a stricter use of DB or will it be other kinds of effects like you wrote in december ?Mongoose Gar wrote:Currently, the changes made are: (...)

That's mainly 'cos Chris asked me for "stuff he could talk about in an ad" and I had the Sorcery chapter open in front of me on my laptop.Strom wrote: Interesting that the ad features so much about the magic of the game.
