I must agree. This is fine work. Thanks much for sharing it and helping others by making it available openly on the web. The PDFs are a nice touch. They make things modular and easy to pull for private use.

Excellent job,

You have hit on the wonderful thing about Babylon 5, Greg. It, like many worlds and settings, do not have to balance. As long as things are accurate to the source material and people make characters they enjoy, game balance (especially for a non-combat game like B5) is a very secondary concern. If b...

The information comes is a series of text boxes appearing int he relevant areas showing readers how to use the variuos elements of the game with standard d20 rules. This allows Players and Games Masters to pick and choose what parts they want to use and what parts to leave for standard D&D of whatev...

The core focus of the game is the continent of Magnamund and the kinds of action and settings seen in the original run of Lone Wolf books. References are made to the Shianti, the Lorestones, and Shadaki (the Shadaki even get their own character class, though it may not eb what you think it is... :) ...

To play Babylon 5, any copy of the Player's Handbook will do. The Pocket Player's Guide will also suffice, as will any copy of the basic 3.0 or 3.5 rules. The core game of B5 was written with 3.0 in mind as it was in production before 3.5 came out...

I intend to make it both. I will offer a basic hit-location table free here and put an expanded one with more effects in S&P as an article with flavour text and additional crunchiness-sprinkles. :)

<looks excited>

I was really, really hoping that would come out all right. I was so ill for part of the book's writing that I could have typed "Giblik zoofle weng" seven hundred times a page and not noticed.

Then again, that would have been caught in the edit, so we all good. :)

Actually, there is an interesting concept here in my muddled head allowing a ship's position to also face the points of a hex and uses movement rules that take into account the lines of a hex as well as the hexes themselves. Not sure I will be using it, but that does allow 12 facings.

Sorry, cerhob. I would love to hook you and your players up. S&P is available in a lot of different places, including some online. As an article in the magazine, I can't shuttle it to you, much as I would like to. :(

This is starting to become adversarial. Let's take it back a notch and either close this thread down to start another or get back to the topic at hand. K? No one here is questioning your soldier's integrity or exactly what "obliged obligation" is supposed to mean, and I am sure 'gun-fondler' was not...

I would retroactively apply the hit dice with the first one being maximum and the others being an average value. In this case, it would be 12 + (5 x 6.5) or 45 hit points after the template. That's just a suggestion. The author or your own milage may vary. :)

*nods* I can certainly see how you might have those opinions. Strangely, they all worked just fine in multiple playtests, which is why they made it into the book. Maybe the tactics work all right when at the tabeltop level. Just another example of why I would never want any real life commander using...

'Rules of the Road' was a disappointing section? Odd; that's something I recieve a lot of positive feedback on. I'm sorry you did not like it, but as far as entry-level combat tactics go, it seemed to do its job just fine. :)

Don't worry, Prophetsteve. To the best of my knowledge, the errata we are putting together will be free for all, hosted right here on our server. You won't have to pay a dime (well, maybe a virtual one for the internet time) to it. That acceptable? :)

Of course there was playtesting, which is why I suggested using both systems (one for in the Web, the other for real world encounters). That's how we did it. I did not come in and answer this specifically because I thought I already did. :)

Hope this clears things up.

Guys, a lot of questions get asked and while we try to get around to them all, please don't be upset if some slip through the cracks. :D Right now, the game is in the planning stages, so it is hard to tell exactly what it will be like. I would say if you are a fan of either B5 Wars (I am) or the Ear...

Marchmore, given that every episode in the sourcebooks has a minimum of three campaign hooks listed after them, that's a low end total of 60+ campaign hooks to use per book. Is that really not enough? :)

While I would not consider the Battle of the Line or the end of the Shadow War to be doable with the new system in a few hours, any smaller engagement (10-12 ships on each side plus fighter flights) should be easily managed. Something like the ill-fated attack on Gorash 7 by the Narn comes to mind.....
