Certain feats are restricted by skill ranks too - I searched high and lo for a feat or ability that would circumvent the level cap, but only found Religiously Driven, which only applies to the Knowledge: Mystery skills.

Anyone actually played a prestige class - sorcerous or otherwise? I am curious about that, never seen anyone mention it here before.

why this was left off is beyond me. Even non-sorcerers eventually have a magic attack bonus.

Don't forget the caveat that one has to retain purity in regards to the religion to retain the benefits of the mystery. For Stygian religions (and let's face it, they have the best mysteries) this means wearing only white linen and shaving all body hair.

Be aware there certainly have been errors, or at least non-sequitirs, regarding the prereqs for spells published in past supplements. Most notabley, in The Scrolls of Skelos, the spell voice of power has itself as a prerequisite. Though obviously a misprint, I like to think it was intended as a joke...

Recommend you check out the stats for various uber-nasties from Chaosium's Call of Cthulhu main book. Or at least the Monstrosity from Hell in the Hyborian Bestiary.
