Blimey, that was quick. :D

Price seems very reasonable to me. By the time I've paid for parking, tickets and a couple of beers and hot dogs me and my wife would pay about that to see a movie out here!!

IIRC wasn't there some talk about some Mongoose looking at 1:1200 or 1:1250? I'm looking forward to getting models for the Pacific theatre.

I think a Tomb Raider game would be excellent (sexy girl turning up for the launch or not).

Mongoose is most likely to respond to a thread on a 'What's Next' game that they have already indicated is likely (e.g. Stalingrad or Victory at Sea).

Anyone know offhand how much this boxed set is selling for?

If it's going for the same price as unpainted minis then I'm quite happy about the quality of the pre-paints and would be happy if SST:E and BFE went in this direction.

Yep, she'll do. :D

Mongoose justs needs to be careful to make sure that she appears as Lara Croft in her Tomb Raider gear.

Thanks for the link to the comic as well. I had never read it before (only really knew about Tomb Raider cos of Angelina).

Mechanics and names aside, more importantly:

Will Mongoose be able to arrange an open day with Angelina Jolie in attendance to promote the game?

I'd easily be able to fly back to the UK!! :D

Shipping costs from the UK are disgusting. Unless you're ordering from the UK I would recommend that the principal source for shipments out be the US. I order a lot of stuff to be delivered to Japan and only ever order from the UK if a US (or Australian) stockist doesn't have it.

If you want realistic combat then personally I'd say that even halving an individual's skill when facing two opponents is being generous. There is evidence that a supremely focussed/skilled warrior can move through combat and take out the ones who are a threat to him ,and maneuver others into a posi...

I'd be willing to pay $200-300 for something like this, depending on the production standard. On a more general note, I really welcome this pre-painted move that Mongoose is making. I've noted on other threads but will reiterate here: the amount of time saved for me is the most important thing. Not ...

I think it depends on the feel of your campaign. If you are taking an unrealistic Zorro-type cinematic approach to combat then you probably don't need to do much with the rules as already written. If you are running a campaign where competing schools of matial arts are prominent and want to colour a...

I think there is scope for in-game 'politics' in a campaign, but that these should be based solely on the imagination rather than any attempt to understand the current (or near future) political arena. Civilians too. Maybe a scenario to breakthrough to a town encircled by enemy forces and rescue the...

Personally I remain optimistic about the pre-painted minis and I think they are a step in the right direction for the hobby in general and one I personally welcome. No-one posting on these boards has knowledge of the cashflow that Mongoose has. Oftentimes companies, gaming or otherwise, have to make...

I'm still going through a process of absorbing the rules and don't have anything formally recorded about them as yet, but what I'm thinking about is declarations of intent PRIOR to the attack made for characters with a lower skill level and allowing characters with a higher skill level to declare in...

@Reborn Thanks for the response. Is that 3,000 points a side in the battle report? How many models would that equate to? On the lists presented by Matt, is he talking about units then as opposed to single models (which is what I first thought, and was surprised that 3,000 points for a single side wa...

So far the 'a bit of both' crowd are more numerous. It'll be interesting to see how the numbers change a year from now after SSTE and BE are released and Mongoose creates a new, and presumably different, fanbase.

Sounds very cool. Is 3,000 points a typical battle? How long does it take to complete 4 turns?

Thanks,

If these will go for the same price as unpainted minis then I think they are okay. Weapons especially look a bit flat to me. I do agree with previous posts though that the pictures released by Mongoose look a lot better.

Whether or not GW is shaking in its boots or not, I don't know.

I won't be getting rid of anything but I will wait until the pre-paints are available then start purchasing again. I wish I had access to pre-paints from the start actually because of time factors.

Very much looking forward to Battlefield Evolution as well!!!

Battlefield Evolution Forum

Hi,

I think someone mentioned it before on the SST board but it got lost in all the pages of comments. Is there any chance of having a separate Battlefield Evotion forum set up? Like the Conan one: to discuss the forthcoming release.

Thanks,

Eisho
