Re: Starter Box Set

Well, actually, if they choose six characters I hope they aren't the original six from Classic Traveller. It's too military weighted. I'd prefer them to have more of a mix:

Agent
Army
Navy
Merchant
Scout
Scholar

...maybe?

Re: Reviews of new Traveller?

The old Spinward Marches was largely system free information. I think there was some talk of doing a new kickstarter book for the Imperium as a whole, although I'm hazy on what was actually said about that.

Re: Starter Box Set

I hope for: Full colour deck plans (as per the 3D illustrations, but much bigger poster scale). Lots of maps. Official Traveller Dice (as per the T5 sets). Pregen characters - an entire crew (6?) again put onto full colour character sheets w/ character illustrations. Booklets for running the game - ...

Re: [MgT2] Non-Random Character Generation?

And don't worry about Shawn. He's operating under a delusion currently, that he's the only person in the world who can judge whether somebody knows how to roleplay or not based upon his own set of bizarre, non sequitur and vaguely solipsistic criteria. Just learn to role-play. So simple. Thing is S...

Re: [MgT2] Non-Random Character Generation?

Is there a release estimate for the Traveller Companion? It'll probably be the next book on the release list after the current listed titles have been released. I'd expect early next year. There is a non-random points build system in the 1st edition. In the current system, you can reduce the random...

Re: 2000AD RPGs reboot?

Returning to this as a topic, I wonder whether the new game (if it gets the green light) might consider going a bit more in the direction of a full comic strip supers type of game? That is, less emphasis of it being a sci-fi setting (as in Traveller) but more like something like Mutants and Mastermi...

I'd be willing to put a load down on a subscription, flatly.

Any more preorders?

So my Traveller Core Rules and screen arrived today in the mail. They're super - but I was wondering if any of the other supplements will be opened up for preorder soon too?

I'll be buying a lot of that - on preorder if available - including the box. Not sure what Calixcuel is either though.

Re: 2000AD RPGs reboot?

I would encourage this actually. There may be a drive towards making the 2000AD into Traveller supplements again, but I'd like to make them distinct as their own line - like Paranoia is. If there is an avenue towards tapping into the old D20 market then that may be a way of going about it, or maybe ...

Re: All Over???

Cool. Can I now place a pre-order on my pre-order? We won't be making the Grand Announcement until this afternoon (along with releasing the ebook versions!), but the pre-order for the printed version of the Core Rulebook - and screen - has sneakily just gone live! http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/...

Hi Noah,

Thanks for the response to the feedback - it is appreciated.

Another question is when do we get the spaceship and world designs?

Re: All Over???

Actually, just to ask, but is the physical books going to be sold just through POD, or will there be a more traditional print run? The differences can be slight, but POD books tend to have their own style (slightly larger, squarer books, etc). I was wondering whether we will get slightly more glossy...

Re: RPG Suite

It took an age for it to load while on holiday, but was better when I got back home. The major issue is that my current PC is only 32 bit, but most of the programmes are for 64 bit. Moreover, what I'd really hope for is something that is useable on tablets and smartphones - an app, basically.

Re: Difficulty, Boon/Bane, and DMs

Yep. That's the plan - although most scores lie between the two extremes of course. The modifiers of the characteristics basically get replaced by variable Boon/Bane dice depending on the difficulty of the task.
