As I remember Starship Trooper, I first read it in 1961 or 1962 as a Freshman in Highschool or that summer. I have read virtually everything in the way of novels that Robert Heinlein ever wrote, with one or two exceptions. The list of his work that I like a lot or love includes everything of his I h...

Have to say I have a very understanding wife of 28 years now. Lets me spend my allowance on game stuff without any real complaints. She plays occasional card games etc. but I may get her to play SST. She really hates bugs of any kind, so I am working on her to get her to play MI, that way she can ki...

Personally, I use Ceramcoat by Delta. These are artist's Acrylics in bottles witn an absolutely amazing array of colors. Somewhere in excess of 100 different colors I always thin to the appropriate consistency for the paint job I am doing. This product comes in 2 Fl Oz bottles and larger, seals perf...

I actually have to state I have never seen a spam post by a bot, on this or any other Forum. Doesn't mean they're not out there I just have not seen them. My own observations are more related to actual human beings who post while hiding behind "Guest". Oh, and by the bye, I served in the military. A...

I lurk on many different Forums to learn about the Forums topics, but I personallyfeel it should be a prerequisite to register to post, and on most Forums it is. Some of the most obnoxious posts on this Forum and some of the most childish arguments have been started and/or promulgated by guests. Fur...

Once I have the rest of my pending "Bug" army purchased; then the spider bugs and Firefrys in large quantities could become very useful units, just as the rules currently exist. Think about it with Warriors, if you only fielded three to six warriors in a unit they would get creamed every time. Why n...

Largest game I ever observed was as an Outrider for the EE. It was an Outrider only game involving 14 to 16 Outriders with 2000 plus points each. Done with Profesionally built scenery from HQ on a 5-6foot by 20 plus foot long table with a giant Cathedral at table center and the Eternal Emperor showe...

Just remember with Michael Garibaldi he was in Earth Force and on Mars where he met Sinclair. Sinclair specifically brought Garibaldi aboard as Chief of security for Bab 5. With Garibaldi's inclusion as command Staff (Chief of Security) and Garibaldi was also flight qualified for the Starfury. Garib...

Highly evolved, transcendent human being to a younger race member, "Who are you?"

Younger race response "Blah, blah, blah, blah ...........blah, blah, blah, blah!!"

Human query to response from younger "No, really, who the bleep are you and why are you in my Galaxy?"

I personally never judge a book by how much it weighs or how many pages. I love Mongooses ?Mongeese ?Mongoose's (whatever) full color and highgloss paper vs GW's largely Black and white lower grade paper plus GW's notorious tendency to have really crappy binding with at least as much cost if not mor...

Not exactly relevant to the BSG portion of the thread but relevant to the War of the Worlds portion the most current iteration starring Tom Cruz is definitely (ignoring the modern setting) the closest movie yet to actually Herbert George Wells original plot structure. No other worldly fliers, appear...

Just read the articles in S&P on Basic Tactics and more specifically on tactics to defeat Minbari. A lot of defeats result from improper fleet construction or ship selection related to tactics used. Also play at lower PLs, this puts the Minbari at a slight disadvantage.

I can sympathize with LBH, when I reached the point with GW minis that I had 12 floor to ceiling racks of storage bins loaded with sorted figures, unassembled and of course not painted. We weighed them when I held what was locally known as the "Great Giveaway". There were four five gallon buckets fu...

Currently I am just using counters as my first miniature order has yet to arrive. Being an older (59years old) long time game player there is just a greater satisfaction for me in using miniatures. The last time I saw a cost analysis for a single 1/25 scale car model mold set the cost to make a three sprue mold was on the order of $100,000 or more. On the other hand it would make sense to produce the various fighter/auxillary type vehicles in plastic. Especially since each player needs large n...
