Seeing that the Condor was originally supposed to be the troop transports that docked with B5 in "GROPOS", and seeing that they were a good deal smaller then their escorting Nova, I'd say the smaller one is more accurate (after all, what does it need shuttles for - the ship looked quite atmospheric ...

Ok, that's...weird. I haven't seen the printed IPX book yet, but I'm looking at my manuscript here: Herodotus-class Expedition Base... -snip- Oh... yeees, my fault. Overread that one hidden in the corner and next page to the other ships... (that'll tech me to go through a supplement too quickly - b...

id go for the one page 140 of ships of the Galaxy And you'd be wrong. The "Long Range Survey Ship" has no atmospheric capability (which the Icarus had, seeing how it landed at Alpha Omega Three), yet a gravitic engine (which the Icarus didn't, having EA-style fusion engines) The LRSS is most likely...

Unfortunately the IPX supplement also does nothing to clear up the Icarus question. It has several IPX ships, none of which match the Icarus... What ships I sense you cry? OK... Amber-class Surveyor - a shuttle-sized small prospecting craft, with atmospheric capability. Would be a good canditate for...

It's the power management thing that tends to kill AoG earth ships.... you can rarely run everrything at once. A Nova has a horrendous number of guns but you have to shut half of them down to source enough power to do anything... Are you sure you ever played B5W??? The AoG Nova could fire all guns ...

As to possible plots for a RPG why NOT? A single military transport secretively sneaks out a few scientists and miltary personel to some distant planet on a fringe of the universe planet at the end of the Dilgar War. Rumor has it that this ship settled on a certain little planet far away. Your miss...

Supplements: BW-103 "Babylon 5 Wars - The Dilgar Invasion" BW-113 "Babylon 5 Wars - Showdowns 4" BW-159 "Babylon 5 Wars - Variants 3" Mongoose features some usable Dilgar info in: MGP 3348 "B5 RPG - Into the Crucible" MGP 3354 "B5 RPG - EarthForce Campaign Book" ...

That was the rule explenation... the fluff explenation would be that a pentacan is a formation of usually five, but sometimes also four to six ships flying in an inverted "V", with the (usually biggest) commd ship in the middle and lighter escorts on the tips. Dilgar forces have a lot of training fo...

anyone who thought James Bond was an accurate reflection of real life wants their head looking at. They paid you to say that didn't they? No, they probably did some "head looking at" for "his own good", and while at it had his brain washed, rinsed and dried. :P  Remember, the trut...

Go 2nd Edition for all the background and RPG info, and make up your own space combat rules (borrowing from 1st Edition, or whatever game you like, whenever you like) Myself, I still use a modified form of Babylon 5 Wars for my space encounters. Of course, I also use a modified form of GURPS for my ...

You're thinking of a Supernova event which is a not exactly the same thing as a Nova event. In the former the star blows it self apart after collapsing inwards, in the later the star "merely" sloughs off matter into its surroundings; The normal cause is when a a star ecretes matter from a nearby co...

Or you do what I intend to do - order some ShadOmega spine sprues (you can order parts from the Mongoose online store, you know - it may take a while, but it is possible) and use them for the Nemesis.

Got my Marathon about a Month ago... and it almost made me decide not to by any more CtA minis. Almost - until Matt assured me the quality will improve in the future. A few things... First the Nova question. It is actually rather implausible that Omelos went nova judging from the in-game information - after all, the system is still in the jumpgate network, and that means the jumpgate and beacon have survived the stallar event that wiped out rhe Dilgar. What's mor...

Actually the Omega has kinda "grown" during it's existance in B5. At first the CGI ship was IIRC 1495 meters, then it increased to 1714.3 meters somewhere around season-4, which remains the "official" size.

And yes, the Nova has an official size of 1502.1 meters.
