I bought a selection of Celtos barbarians for use as Cimmerians and have come up with a new weapon specific to them,Cimmerian Spearsling. Having read the ROK background it seems that our grumpy black haired hillmen despise the bow as a weapon of war and i thought that this offered a viable alternati...

I reckon that by continuing to play your character as a Werehyena you have two routes you can follow. The first is as Bhil describes above but there is another option. Wolfshead by REH shows the story of a soldier who is ostensibly an honourable man fighting against the ravening wolf demon that shar...

immortality spells
Help me out guys,I may be missing something but there is no basic immortality spell. Now I do realize that there is nothing remotely basic about immortality but if this style of magic is taken as a new sorcery style does the character forego the right to a spell and have to wait until he gets another...

I always find that a sneer,a pointed beard or a moustache and a penchant for dressing in black always makes a good villain,in short,Dave Wyndorff from Monster Magnet. Historical characters are good sources, Vlad the Impaler renamed and repositioned as a powerful Brythunian noble using terror tactics...

Yeah,I really like these guys as well, wasnt sure like many others at the start but then I thought they could be known as Trolls by the Aesir and Vanir linking a little bit more to the mythology of the whole thing. I am regressing several of my characters to lower levels and writing small 2or 3 sessi...

Having it Large in Conan rpg
I was looking thru the feats again and once again I have to say that Carouser is my favourite for sheer character. However I thought that the simple statement about the -2 penalties to characters who did not possess this feat did not do justice to the time honoured tradition of adventurers getting h...

I dont currently have a copy of "The witch of the mists" which is one of two carter/de camp pastiches that feature the Hyperboreans but I do have a copy of "legions of the dead". In it the young Conan has infiltrated a Citadel of the Witchmen and the writers describe them as devils from a lightless ...

Thanks for the vote of confidence Mohbius,I hope that my earlier post didnt sound like I was saying that any other pronunciation than mine is unnacceptable. It is of course up to the individual how they pronounce words and as REH isnt around to confer with who knows if any of us are right. I just tho...

I would definately use the French pronunciation for Poitain. The rulebook(though not REH)states that it bears a similarity to France of the middle ages. If we can accept a similar culture then why not a similar language. Using the English ONION to the French OIGNON(wanyon) then Poitain would be Pwat...

I may not have put it very well but that is exactly the point i was trying to make.Reputation and renown whether individual, unit based or racial would definately have a bearing on the rates of pay. As well as food and shelter being part of the deal I think iread somewhere that established mercenary ...

I was thinking that the rates of pay for mercenaries would vary quite considerably depending on their quality and the amount that their captain was able to negotiate on their behalf. For example a renowned company of Gunderland pike under a captain who had never lost a battle would certainly be offe...
