And I would argue that, perhaps one level in every 3 or 4 of a typical Enlisted Navy type should be in the Soldier class...
Perhaps I need to write up an article on common multi-class paths...
...hmmm...

Re: Errata...please?
It doesn't have ... a mass combat system that doesn't work ... It does have a starship combat system that does not (in my opinion) work. ===== Issue #1: The Sensors, the Acquire Target bonus and Firing my weapons For example, on page 73, it states that a character may take any of the following comb...

I posted a discussion (in this thread) on several options for hit points. These would allow a Game Master to tailor the game to the level of combat deadliness desired in her/his game. Please feel free to use any and all of that. If you want it edited, expanded upon or trimmed down -- I am available ...

*snickers at your sig* Doesn't the Primus have four battle lasers? Or was this something from 1st Edition that we corrected in 2nd Edition? Oops... That would be a typo... yes, it has four battle-lasers. I am a Centauri player, to the bone. And despite the Primus being a bit undergunned (compared t...

{snip} However if a player is blantantly abusing the system, the GM should just say 'No'. There's no need for for multiclassing penalties in B5 IMHO. Agreed. Which means we can leave behind this whole "favored class" thing as well and move on. In a related note, I would like there to be more "core ...

I like the new rules. One thing I would add would be that each of them also has listed in their Skill Bonus section " Profession " for the chosen profession; i.e.: Dock Workers would gain a +1 to Profession (Dock Worker) . Optionally, one could rule that Workers gain an additional +1 with their prof...

Next wish: Right now we have a series of maps in the B5 RPG. Two in particular are very important: the star map (which claims only shows "major" systems and capitals), and hte map of the B5 Station. What would it take to get Mongoose to publish a full-sized poster version of the starmap on high-glos...

Next wish: Before I explain this one, I have another couple of Steve Jackson Games products I would like you to give a look-see. These would be: (1) The various GURPS Traveller : Planetary Survey books; (2) GURPS Traveller : Rim of Fire . These are two styles of product that, in the case of Babylon ...

I would like, either in this companion volume, or as a book in-and-of itself, a "Who's Who" of the Babylon-5 Universe. For an example of the sorts of things I would like to see in this book, check out the Steve Jackson Games' WHO'S WHO I and WHO'S WHO II books. In these cases, I would like to have p...

To all the "put the SRD stuff in Bab 5"'ers... I have explained and answered all of the questions raised by this post earlier in this thread and in other places. As I agreed to drop this subject in the interest of the sanity of those that frequent these boards, I will not get into this here yet aga...

Pardon my ignorance, I am begining to hate this when it happens, just what is "the SRD" It is a topic I have agreed to drop. So without getting into specifics of the argument, the SRD is the S ystem R eference D ocument . It is the "free" version of the complete d20 rules (less the ability score ge...

OK... now for some of my ideas (more later and this weekend): Setting the Tone with Hit Points : In the default Babylon-5 setting, we have a bit of a dichotomy. On the one hand, hit points are kept relatively low (1d6+a few to start; then you get 1, 2, or 3 hit points each level thereafter) in order...

I have some other ideas... But first, let us recap what has been brought up so far: BARAENDUR : Remove/rename/rework Worker class. Virtually any change will be an improvement. Crusade. The Excalibur, drakh ships, a compilation of the stories that take place from Crusade through to the death of Sheri...

That is enough. True. KD, you are not helping. We appreciate you noting the sheer audacity of the Kazaa "option", but rising to Cartmag's post with sarcasm and mock outrage (however appropriate) is exactly what "promoting a flame war" consists of. You are, of course, absolutely right. Sorry. Won't ...

I wasnt advocating Piracy.. Actually, yes; yes you were. In fact, you out-and-out stated quite clearly that this was an option. No need trying to re-write history now. all i was saying is that if a book is OOP, and there is no way you can get yourself a copy of that book from any store or online or...
