THE COMING OF SHADOWS: Cover of the book

I noticed that the cover for THE COMING OF SHADOWS on the ENWorld site (and thus, on my review) does not match the cover of the book I have in front of me. Since I can correct this on that site, I came here looking for the correct cover. The one at mongoose is _also_ wrong; in fact it is the same co...

Please don't take this as a flame, but as constructive criticism... Perhaps I am demanding :) Nope. Just sounds like you fall on the same side of the fence I fall on... (i.e.: B5 needed to be a compelte game, base classes and prestige classes do not follow the spirit of the d20 rules, etc. ). The M...

And no, KD, I don;t see us agreeing on much any time in the future, but then, where would be the fun in thinking alike? One of the joys of a roleplaying game is being able to envision things differently from others. Thus, no set of rules could be (or should be) exactly what someone is going to want...

* In Monte Cook's discussions of Prestige Classes, he distinctly suggests that Class and/or Character Level not be used as a pre-requisite. -snip- Usually I'd agree to that... but in this very case, level Would be fitting. Remember how Sinclair first choose his rangers - people he felt "had what it...

A couple of things: * In Monte Cook's discussions of Prestige Classes, he distinctly suggests that Class and/or Character Level not be used as a pre-requisite. The point here is that very few people would identify themselves as having a class and nobody would actually be able to judge what "level" t...

The reason I ask isn't that I don't think it deserves a 4, but rather because the B5 RPG & Fact Book, which in my opinion is technically as good in design, longer, and with much clearer pictures was only given a 3 by the same reviewer while containing much of the same type and quality of material. ...

I was going to answer... but Mr. August hit the nail on the head here.

It is a very good book, with a lot of small flaws. Overall, I like it and am quite happy to own it.

I have read THE FIERY TRIAL and THE COMING OF SHADOWS. I should have reviews of both books up over at ENWorld before Sunday (Central US Time).

The StarMap?

I may have missed it somewhere, but if I am not mistaken the starmap being used in the B5RPG and other subsequent products is the starmap that was designed by the HRT (Historical Repair Team) from the AoG days; yet I cannot seem to find anywhere that lists them in the books. Are they credited for th...

ATTN: Mongoose August

As for KDLadage, well, what can I say. We've done everything short of shake his hand on his wonderful suggestions and he still feels the need to slam the system every chance he gets. I personally intend on taking his suggestions to heart during the rest of the 3rd Season book, but if we've already ...

Psyclone Jack: For the most part, I agree with you. The spelling errors don;t bug me that much. I am a tough edit, as any of the editors that have had to comb through my freelance work can attest to. What bugs me are the number of purely mechanical aspects of the B5RPG&FB that simply do not work; th...

This is the sort of attitude that really gets my goat everytime I read it. Yes, mistakes happen but they are nothing to get riled up about. Ever. Why can't you just live with it. You know what its meant to be so why get on your high horse? Perhaps because he is paying good money for these mistakes?...

No problems. And I fully understand the problems with figuring out the emotions behind a given post. As far as space combat systems go (Silent Death, by the way), I would say the best one I have encountered for fun and fast and does not get bogged down in STARMADA from Majestic 12 Games (www.mj12gam...

I know you dislike having to make 'House Rules' KDLadage. But in this since you just put a period after the "Chapter 4". And delete "until the operator's next action." Consider it a Typo, not a House Rule. You know that? Funny, because you are wrong. I love house rules -- I have rarely played...

Personally I wouldn't bother the acquire target step. Just let the pilot shot at his opponent. I think I would only use the acquire target rule if the pilot wanted to target a specific part of a ship, say hitting the engines or the weapon systems. I do not plan to bother with it either (or I will m...
