I think it was wishful thinking mainly, plus a possibility that Matt mentioned in conjunction with the Advanced Starship combat system.

If you got a look at "Legend Of The Rangers" you can see the huge improvement in CGI, particularly the look of Minbar and the Jump effects. I'd expect "Lost Tales" would have the same quality of effects. Hopefully with a better quality of script. I'm hoping that they contracted Zoic... Obviously "s...

That's what the NPC section in the Rulebook is for. Telepaths are clearly presented as PCs, and as such should be used without restrictions. I'm pretty certain that the B5 RPG doesn't present any character classes as NPC only as that is a very D&D attitude ;) Common sense however applies. It is onl...

2) kept the black uniforms. looked better than the red and grey stuff. Remember the black uniforms were actually the upgrades in reality - the 7 episodes with others were the first ones filmed, and were part of the changes that TNT wanted (and in this case, correctly so...). But because TNT also wa...

The thing is Technomages (even in first edition) werenh't really designed to work in a standard campaign - they're meant to be used in a fully TM setup or as NPCs. I'd never, ever let a PC be a Technomage under any other circumstance. To a slightly lesser degree, Telepaths benefit from being run in ...

Season 5: Good Crusade: Was just starting to gear up to be good(the ones where WB didn't have word to say were good. No wonder if the episodes made to appease WB were crap). LotR: Apart from few annoyances I liked it. Same here; don´t care that most on this forum will disagree... Damn straight - go...

But what is this bridge thing on the top ? That'll be the bridge... On the T'Loth you don't need that, because the bridge is in the circular structure at the front. Because the T'Rakk, in effect is one engine/weapon pod of a T'Loth, you need to add that structure because this isn't the Star Trek wo...

What's with the large bridges on Narn ships lately? First the G'Vrahn and now the T'Rakk. Just curious. That's what a T'Rakk looks like, http://www.agentsofgaming.com/fa2315.jpg (the old AoG FA scale ones) See :) Been waiting for those to get ACtA sized... Now, here's a thought, would the old FA sc...

So you want to say it's better to trust your "feeling" even when the statistic tells you it is a 50% chance ? My gut would also be telling me that the situation was 50-50 - Hello Baseline units :) Some things are obvious... In one game you have problems with stealth ( low rolls ) an in the next it'...

PL's are usefull, becuase at certain levels they can dictate the numebr of large ships on the table. If a Sharlin was worth 200 points, how so you dictate if you dont want one in 1000 point battle. In the PL system you can, you select the scenario for Skirmish, and redice the FAPs. Hah, everyone kn...

So how can the points system be any better than the PL system if it is just as subjective? The process you describe for assigning points is exactly the process used to decide PL. A points system woul dbe just as inaccurate, and a lot more complicated. It's granularity that's the issue. The PL syste...

Almost forgot, and this is the most important thing for the system. Each ship would be listed as something like War [10] or Patrol [8] or Raid [12] indicating a perfectly sound War selcetion, a slightly naff Patrol selection and a damn good Raid selection respectively (or whatever the points actuall...

Im not sure if it would be useable with the current split-process for FAP ... to be true im not sure if it would be useable with any split-process at all. How would you suggest to make Raid-Skirmish-Patrol break-down ? Exactly as it is at the moment pretty much, only each PL point at each PL gets y...

There is of course a hybrid system between the two (for those who just want to more accurately balance a game). The ships don't change in the slightest, they still have their PL. However, (and for the sake of argument, arbitrarily) each "point" at that level is worth 10 balance points. Some ships wo...

OK I have one particularly valid point here. If Mongoose cannot get a decent balance from only 5 Priority levels (at release) how in the blue hell does anyone expect them to get a points system right?! The obvious answer is they need more granularity which isn't the one you were looking for is it.....

It would work better as an RPG to my mind, so much of what would make a "wargame" would have to be made up, probably more so than other settings.

Be prepared for them to completely poleaxe your scenario. Players never quite do what you want, so be flexible. Think of the plot in broad sweeps, and ocassionally, if the players came up with a "plot" that you didn't, and it's better, run with it and call it your idea :) Don't let them bully you th...
