Spaceships/stations: What's the Most Realistic Artificial Gravity in Sci-Fi? | Space Time | PBS Digital Studios 2001: A Space Odyssey introduced a lot of people to the idea of rotation based artificial gravity, but in sci-fi, it’s far from the only one to implement the idea! Babylon 5, Halo, and Ri...

Re: How would the people that remembered cope?

Unconditional surrender would ensure Germany will get divided, and the industrial might of the Allies made defeat a certainty. If Rommel had known the details of Operation Overlord, had managed to resurrect the Luftwaffe to deny Allied bombers the access to eventually atomic bomb Berlin, and stalema...

Get it in writing; if it's a known ailment, and this isn't the technological level three, his superiors could text him, or he has a hearing aid.

The air group tends to cost as much as the carrier; however, it's easier to upgrade them.

Read Pournelle's Falkenberg's Legion.

Mercenaries will want to avoid breaking their contracts, and standard ones will have caveats regarding war crimes.

How are you going to build a large loyal Imperium wide base?

How many years is that going to take, especially with the time lag?

Re: Nobles and adoption

The Japanese also adopt outsiders, even as adults, especially if it's to coopt a capable manager into the family firm, possibly in addition to marriage to the daughter of the house.

As for the Romans, the tendency to dynastize can certainly be identified pre-Principate.

Depends on tradition and custom.

You could do it in Rome, though titles were passe; in England you'd need the Royal stamp of approval, if the kids were not in the direct line of succession.
